Hey, could you add some distortion to this and add 20 decibels to this? Thanks.

This is sort of similar to how your brain hurts doing Mangini's C&C system exercises from his Rhythm Knowledge books. My brain literally felt like it was being stretched or something. Totally weird. Marco rocks!

Just in case anyone cares...what i do and really helps me for independence, is, once you get this going, try to replace the alternatig singles, or the alternating doubles with odd groups (2+1+2+1+2+1)...and then 3+2+3+2+3+2. Then, i didnt tried it, but i gues the next step could be 3+2 (both hands) combined with 2+1 (feet)..that would mean 5's and 3's going on at the same time. It wont resolve in 4/4 of course. Bye!

What I meant is that he maybe doesn't like it cos he doesn't understand it. And I say so because it's what happened to me with progressive rock/metal and jazz fusion. I became to like it when I first understood what I was listening to.

i think it's not independence, it's coordination. I saw terry bozo playing a triplet with the left foot, a quintuplet with the right foot, a septuplet with the left hand and finally an eleven with the right hand... that is independence, but, in fact, you never need it to play music...

Would of like to have seen an example of how he then incorporates that into his music, or grooves. I think it's only worth practicing things that you can actually use or include in your music playing, time is too precious. Not saying he can't with what he showed us btw.

I don't know why do you think he's trying to show off? I don't think so, I think all the things he does in his music have a meaning, but I agree that sometimes it could be an excess of rythmic elements, maybe unnecessarily. Anyway, there's no accounting for taste. It was nice to discuss with you! Regards!

@Helslinky Terrible music? what are you talking about? He's a genius! Listen to golden dolphin, overloaded, motor, mr. kempinski, and a lot of other great songs. They're all very complex harmonically and rithmically talking. Perhaps you don't understand his music, cos it's complicated, but it's great, he's a very comprehensive drummer. Watch he's Extreme Drumming, and maybe you'll get his style

I like this guy, too bad his playing sounds like crap over normal music. He used to be one of my favorite drummers, then I heard him play with Steven Wilson and he basically ruined every song with distasteful wanking and his horrible drum tone. Neat diddles though. He should have majored in Math or something where numbers this complicated does something useful.
