This sometimes led to final scores of -2 vs -1, -1 winning of course. Around 2012 they changed it to award a penalty point to the opponent instead because negative points were confusing for spectators.

Oh, how I needed this on a dreary day! And my favorite, tacti-cool Krav, falling asleep until somebody mentions combatives. All in a world of their own choosing, and all sound pretty cultish. I am going to protest that the ultimate art of all time, Baritsu, was not mentioned. JKD would like it because they have no uniforms or kata, Karate because they display proper discipline in a manly fashion, BJJ because 'itsu' sounds like ju-jitsu and might be a poor relative they can feel superior to, Capoeira because they want to be taken seriously by anybody, TKD because they don't have kicks and might be easy to beat, Krav because they also have weapons training, even if it is an umbrella or cane. Put on a suit and talk like Sean Connery and you have it.

@@thalion2011 yup, plus most "karate" schools basically teach the same exact cookie cutter curriculum the "Tkd" schools teach. Only difference really is one will have a Korean flag hanging somewhere. The other won't lol 😆

I feel bad for TKD too. Years and money wasted on a martial art that is about as effective in a fight as modern dance.

@Patrick Walsh It’s essentially kickboxing... which works fine.
@emylet3206

@@grega3611 but we both know it’s not, and not to say this makes it a worst martial art, while kickboxing and muay thai focus on creating most damage for the opponent, tkd focuses on perfecting the form in order to gain an advantage in a sparring match, at the very least tkd doesnt comprise speed for form, which is important in itself, and knowing tkd rather than not knowing any martial art is still a huge advantage! Its just different strokes for different folks!

@@grega3611 Yes, TKD is just like kickboxing. Except without the hands. Or the leg kicks. Or the elbows, clinch or knees. So, essentially, not really very much like kickboxing at all.

The Lineage joke with capoeira was spot-on lol! You must've been talking with some capoeiristas because that's definitely inside info. So much depends on lineages with us. Plenty of schools dohand striking, some don't. As well as plenty of schools are as physical as can be, some aren't. Remmeber the whole circle (roda) thing is usually just soft sparring to have fun basically. We train to fight just as much as any other art. It depends on the person.
