Two months ago, I replaced my 20-year-old Bose Acoustimass Series iii speakers that I bought in 1996 with a pair of Martin Logan 35XTi speakers. I thought it would be a step up in sound quality but it was night and day. I was so impressed I upgraded my home theater to a Martin Logan 5.1.2 system: 35XTi fronts, 30i center channel, 4i rears, and Dynamo 800X subwoofer. I have a pair of Sonance - 6-1/2" 2 in-ceiling speakers for the heights. I'm interested to hear what an AV expert thinks of the 35XTi.

Your setup is very similar to mine except I went a little overkill with my center. The 4is make amazing surround speakers. So crisp.

So stoked to watch this tomorrow, I have them already but glad there is a real review by someone who knows Speakers finally online. Still looking for an amp to pair with long term that isn’t huge, like 15w x 14 d or less.

Good speakers. I am using a pair of Martin Logan 35XTi for my electric piano via an old pioneer amplifier and the sound I hear for the different keys that I press is very crisp clear.

As a recording artist/ musician I’ll you this… if a song sounds bad one on set of speakers and amazing on another set then it was poorly recorded, mixed, and mastered. Finished tracks should sound amazing on iPhone speakers to 100k audiophile speakers. The only thing audiophile speakers should do for you is make the production sound way better, but the track should be feel like it’s not coming through as intended.

Could you recommend some apm for these speakers, I would like to add a subwoofer too. Better these the fives of klipsch?. The klipsch ones, due to their connectivity and pug and play, really catch my attention; i was thinking about them.buy with the klipsch R - 120 sw subwoofer. What I chose was my first contact with a good sound, what do you recommend?

I sold my SVS Prime Pinnacles, Ultra Bookshelfs, Ultra Center and Elevations after 2yrs. Picked up the ML 35XTi (x4), 50XTi and Focal Dome Flax (x2) for Atmos. Be honest not missing the towers these sound AMAZING with the Dual SB3000s. Too bad the center is not 3-way, but man these things can output sound and are extremly dynamic. Think I might pair the ESL C with them and send the 50XTi back.

I see! Nice setup! There is something to be said about hearing speakers with different driver construction and materials. I had the ESL-Xs with the ESL-C and it was a great setup. I used FX2s for surrounds.

@@Quesoblink The SVS would sound ok as side surrounds and rear channels for movies. I did the exact same thing having SVS Ultras as surrounds, but didn't like the cohesiveness of the aluminum dome tweeter. Once, I switch them to the ML 35XTi the system blended well and sounded better overall. I'm still rocking them great speakers. 💪

Do you think this harshness and brightness will go away and how much change can I expect? Thanks as I’m deciding between keeping them or selling.
