Just ordered mine a few hours ago. Reall looking forward to making my gunsmithing tasks a lot easier. Something key that sold me is that mention that you can torque your barrel down to 80fps and the vise will handle it. That's a lot of torque for a gun part.

I’ve had mine since it was released. Best and most versatile vise that I’ve found yet. Moved it to my #1 bench the first week.

Very well thought out and made for the many things that (usually) you can't get the firearm oriented the way you want to finish tasks on it! This is incredibly well designed.

How does the swivel hold up under torquing conditions? Barrel nut for example. I’ve never used product from avid but I like what I see.

We have a Torq-Lok pin that intersects with the ball and joint locking the vice into a solid position. This allows the end user to apply torque up to 80ft lbs

How does it mount to the bench? Does it have to be bolted or does it have a compression type mount? I often only put my vise on the bench when I'm working with stuff that needs it.

@@RealAvid I couldn't find the length of the lag bolts on your site - I have a Husky rolling workbench and I think the top is about 1" - would this cause an issue with mounting?

Stupid question here - But I just broke my store bought vise (cracked the casting) attempting to get a, Rocksett, muzzle device off. Is this vise sturdy enough to lock down a gun barrel to get off something that was meant to go on permanently?

Is it possible to use clamps to hold this down if I can't permanently mount? Any recommendations on clamps if so?
@RealAvid
10 ай бұрын
You can use a quality C-clamp to mount the Master Gun Vise if not using it for applications that require torque. If applying torque, mount the vise to a length of 2x4 or 2x6 when using a a C-clamp,
