Known as back scull in swimming head first scull is a basic scull that can help teach your swimmers good propulsive force.
- Head first scull is a push/pressing scull
- Placing the hands next to the hips try to encourage the swimmers to scull more underneath their bottom pinching the shoulder blades together throughout.
- Flex the wrists so that the palms face the feet or the back of the pool and press with the bottom of your palm towards your feet
- Feel like you are “flicking” the wrists from side to side there will be slight inward and outward rotation but the goal would be to keep the palms facing the feet at all times.
