Nice just before my weekend I had a grab and go by structural concepts at 77 degrees compressor not turning on. Run cap was at 2.4uF was rated for 20uF

I never fully understood how these start components work. The black cap helps it start but then get dropped out by the potential relay?

Yes. The start cap is like a defibrillator really zapping the windings to get it going, then when that white relay senses the motor is properly started it severs the line to the start cap and just keeps it open to the run cap so she stays online. Quite often when you hear a unit start and then click out it because the potential relay has failed and it’s now over energizing the unit

Why is there a remote condenser for that small of a unit? Or am I missing something

It’s a super low temp unit. Lives at -15. But also ALL equipment In this brand is remote condensers where possible to keep discharge heat out of the dining rooms. I’d much rather have it this way than be dealing with the entire system jammed underneath that 12” panel at the bottom
