Sarah Michelle Gellar's remarks were also every disappointing. She claimed that the original cartoon did not have strong female characters, and were not important to the story, which is proof that she never watched it. Teela was the Captain of the Palace Guard, which meant that she outranked almost everyone, and only answered to the King and Queen. Sorceress is one of the most powerful magic users in the universe, and the guardian of Castle Grayskull, which is central to the story and mythology of MOTU. Evil-Lyn is easily one of the most dangerous villains, and gets much more character development than any of Skeletor's other warriors. I hate it when actors feel the need to disparage the original show to promote how "amazing" and "revolutionary" their reboot is.

I highly doubt any girls (or women b/c this is a show geared more towards adults than She-Ra) were considered in this show. It's giving what old men think girls should have whereas She-Ra ACTUALLY was a show that had girls in mind. Hollywood is basically textbook insane by now. Imagine looking back at the last 10 years of box office bombs and franchises decline because they are doing the cheap/lazy "Here, lest sideline/kill the classic male character and put a woman in his place and also 90% tell the exact same story but cutting the hero's journey becauss woman are born perfect and don't need to learn or evolve in any way as persons". Then you take the franchise literally called HE-MAN and the Masters of the Universe. A franchise that already did a girl/woman focused spin-off, that the same company already did a revival. And you decide to make a new version adult oriented targeting the old demographic fan of the original material. And you FUCKING SIDELINE the main character. And you don't expect this to be at least controversial and affect excitement about your project?

@@RidiculousThoughts I think they can use nearly all the main characters (except maybe The Horde or Snakemen), so I'll be surprised if Ram Man doesn't at least appear in Ep 1. It looks like even Blast Attak and Stinkor are going to have a role.

OMG butch Telia looks awful. I guess she fully transitions by the end of the series. Maybe the 2nd twist is that the Sorceress will transition all the women of Eterna into men using the power of Greyskull...and she will make an army of She-MEN to fight Skeletor and his army lol. I bet Smith is wishing I was in the writing room 🤣 LOL. This Masters of the Universe is a total 💩 show! Don't worry nonbinary Prince Adam will bake cookies for their return...it's a very important plot point!

can I watch it even though I have no previous knowledge about the source material?

I think so, as long as you know the basic premise of the original show.
