Prince Adam preferring his natural form over He-Man, in hero heaven, portrayed why he was worthy of the Sword of Power. It showed that his humility and kindness were what makes a true hero. However, the show ruthlessly mocked it. Meaning, the one decision that worked, was so poorly executed. Also, Prince Adam/He-Man sacrificing himself to save the world, should have been the ending of the series.... not the launch point.

Why? It’s fine, the problem is if he dies a second time… I really doubt this show would have gained any more depth if it was he-man that was doing all the things Teela was doing. If anything it makes sense to take something away at the beginning of the story, if it wasn’t him dying he probably would of lost his sword or something, because there is no stakes… they were clearly trying to do the hero’s journey… but it was done poorly. The problem with this show is none of these characters are interesting NONE. If anything this show would be criticised for being mediocre if it didn’t have all the cheap deaths…

Did you see the movie? It's 90 minutes of people saying the exact same lines as they did in other movies only they are much older and it's not as funny because it's all so forced. Patrick H Willems does a video on Smith's movies and if they hold up as well as taking a look at Reboot and doing some side by sides. except it ignores the fact that He-Man and Adam where one in same person. There was a bond between Adam and Teela. She did love him we can debate in what way she loved him and truth is we don't really know. The original show never really dived in to that and there wasn't enough time in Revelation to explore that completely. However we do see that they had a bond and she does care about him. The grief and anger are tied together. She upset because she lost some one she deeply cared about. What made her angry was that she had known He-Man for years and Adam longer. She had a friendship with both and cared about both and probably in different ways. Then she finds out that He-Man and Adam are one in same person and what worse is that he dies. Adam kept this secrets even though time after time she had proven her self to be a ally and friend. She had put her life on the line time and time again for him and yet he didn't trust her with this secret. That would hurt any one to know some one you loved and had known all your life and had a special bond didn't trust you with that kind of secret. Then to add insult to injury almost every single person she called family knew and had kept it from her. It's the same reason Adam father was so angry. It was this hidden secret and feeling of betrayal. This is why she reacted the way she did. A lot of it was also just tied to grief one she never really face and carries through the entire first part. So imagine finding out some one you knew your whole life and loved had this amazing secret and they kept it from you. Even though you had proven yourself time and time and put your life on the line for them. Then you not only find out about this secret but you watch them die right in front of you. You can't tell me your not going to be angry and hurt and sad all same time. She actually in weird way admits that she was being irrational. In ep 5 she tells Adam to stop being nice and let her be angry. She basically acknowledging that she being some what irrational but she also say let me have this because she felt hurt.

I think it sucks, and it almost comes of as malicious towards male He-Man and MotU fans. I don't mind the depowering of he-man or more time for the other cast, but but they did he-man and prince Adam dirty. I like the idea of an arc that explores Prince Adams feelings regarding being He-Man, I feel like it would make sense if Prince Adam keeps it a secret because he doesn't like relying on that power, because it's a borrowed one. It would have been better if he didn't die, but instead stayed alive and we get to see more of Adam, and his strengths outside of being He-man, while building his relationship with Teela and getting her to understand his insecurities of being He-Man and the ridicule and mistreatment he faced as Adam. I won't likely watch part 2, since the direction of the series seems to be heading towards the complete removal of Adam/He-Man.

There is no way I'm watching this creepy woke communist trash even once for free, and I'm a fan of the toys. It's hard to understand why Mattel would allow this story. They became somewhat woke but not this woke (and they are backing away from it now).

A story which focuses on Teela is sensible. From the old series, she is the character who would be the best to write a story about, but the character in this garbage is not Teela. This is the replacement and undermining of a cool, classic female character who easily could have been improved and developed. If they wanted to make the muscle thing more equal, they could have just used a new muscle woman like Andra and made her special. Adam is not roided in this universe, so why should Teela be??? Adam's story should be about learning to be a hero without the sword. It's fine he's gay. This is heavily implied in the original series. Teela is straight though. This trash is way worse than The Last Jedi, and Smith should be permanently banished from the fan community. He is an awful, pathetic, lazy hack and studio stooge. Even worse than hurting the fans, he helped hurt Mattel, a company which is struggling.

He-Man is a mix of Tarzan and Conan in them. The characters need sensible tweaking. I'm mainly a fan of Battle Cat and Skeletor and Panthor. Whenever I buy a He-Man figure I do it just to put him on Battle Cat, and I give him the axe and shield. He looks better and less ××× with the chest armor. I'm not a fan (at all) of the He-Man or MOTU cartoons or toys since they were way before my time by the time I was born, but I see why people are upset. Teela being the main character wasn't a bad choice, but her motivation being very nebulous so it did a disservice to her character and felt very forced to me. Here is one thing I want to comment on. I REALLY don't like it when a male character isn't "paired up" with a love interest that means he's gay. It just feels like such a regression. There was nothing LGBT about Prince Adam other than the fact that he didn't seem interested in a wife, mostly because he was a little bit busy with other things. It just sends a regressive message that unless you have a girlfriend you must be gay, which is not something we should be encouraging. The same rules apply with Teela btw. I wish people would stop projecting homosexuality onto characters who aren't homosexual.

To answer you question at the end Grace: I would've said to the writers, make He-Man and Teela the main characters of the show. Don't degrade either of them. Imagine if Finn - a former Stormtrooper - went to search for Luke to teach him the ways of the Force to eventually stop Snoke. It would have been an utter delight had Finn been the main protagonist instead of a comic-relief whilst suffering in the script at the expense for Rey's development ~ Subverting expectations didn't work for Game of Thrones, Terminator: Dark Fate, Black Widow or the Disney Trilogy -- especially the latter's progressing box-office total* 😂

If the sword works for everyone, why wouldn't them try that in the beginning? Also, if the sword is magic, it would be able to sense it if the person wielding is good or bad, no? I have a lot of questions lol

As a comic artist, I love the gorgeous and vibrant cel animation and lush 3D/hand painted backgrounds. The art work is beautiful which is what kept me watching despite my confusion on some narrative choices. However, Critically thinking, I don’t hate the show and hopefully we’ll still see He-Man, Man-at-Arms and Prince Adam have some dignity and leadership restored.

I liked the interaction between Orko and Evil-Lyn, and Orko’s origins. But I completely agree that for Prince Adam to give up paradise to no avail was a pointless twist. It felt deeply unsatisfying. Even if I liked seeing Skeletor, as a result, being truly clever in his scheming for a change. His laughing at his own dumb jokes was not something I missed.

I was actually accepting of it when he went back with them and held up the sword. i was like okay He will be He-man and she will become the new sorceress but then they pulled that horror movie bullshit ending and I just got disgusted. HE-MAN is the main character always has been and always will be. This isn't having Dolph Lundgren come back in Live Action and kill him off to set up a new hero. This is animated, there is no reason to do this except to put down a strong male character and prop up a character who was already good before and was never treated like an afterthought. Hell she was in the Live Action movie, She was never a bimbo or told she was weak. It's like promoting Charlie's Angels as a feminist film when it's always been women, there was no reason to change it.

He-Man and John Carter origins came from a Frank Frazetta's type of warrior similar to Conan the barbarian. John Carter was Conan on Mars and He-Man was Conan in Eternia. But Filmation had a particularly light style that sometimes was dumb, so it never reached the epic level intended by the original comics (but mostly not achieved). But fans of He-Man and the corresponding world knew it was a Conan type character. The new Netflix Masters of the Universe tried to "modernize" (add political checkboxes) to the show, and basically create a spin-off with new characters without cool costume designs. But the real sin was to depart from Conan style. Same sin of John Carter, who was just a dude. Changing known characters is not cool. Modifying Teela was not cool. Shaved punk masculine Teela with a generic costume was not cool. In the end it will hit toy sales. He-Man was always a toy commercial. And if you sell something you need to please customers. Netflix may not see an immediate reduction of audiences. With comics, people get fed up after 3 issues. So anyone looking at sales performance of 3 issues may get a biased projection of sales. I am not sure how many episodes will it take people to be fed up. Interviews also matter. If they sound preachy, customers will stop buying. And by the time revenue decreases, it is too late. Masters of the Universe departed from Frazetta's concept too much.
