While I totally feel this, for those that aren't familiar with the process let me explain. The delay in announcing match results is to allow people who did not fully or partially match to apply for positions that are still unfilled through the SOAP process. It sucks. All the waiting and hardship and such sucks. But us med students are the kings and queens of delayed gratification. We can do 4 more days. Cya all on Friday :)

@@alimanski7941 so residency matching refers to applying for the extra training you need to be a pediatrician, opthamologist, surgeon, etc. It is basically a super-glorified and complicated job interview. This is so true. I'm an occupational therapist, and our national board exam is online/computer-based and proctored, so the system does know your score right away. There is no reason it can't tell you right away if you passed, like it does for nursing. But no. It makes you wait TEN DAYS. Passed thank God, but even though it was 6 years ago, I still remember that it was a very stressful 10 days haha
@entercreativename
Жыл бұрын
That's what got me with the nursing boards too - the moment the test finishes, the computer system knows if you passed or failed. But of course, you have to wait six weeks to get your results, or you can pay extra to wait only two days for "unofficial results" which are identical to the actual results. Would it kill these bodies to just tell us when they have the results?
