I've never heard of this show that this Lorenzo guy was on... You're telling me that something like that not only existed, but that Ralphie May, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone all shared a stage with one of its hosts, and NONE of them ever ripped on it? This is just the sort of vacuous trash that gets torn apart on "South Park" and in May's stand up.

As much as I love Trey and Matt, they seem to be pro-Iraq War as well as climate change deniers and I don't like that about them. To be fair though, I haven't heard them explicitly state their views on either of those issues. It's just that they aggressively mock anti-war protesters and people who believe in anthropogenic climate change. They're also pretty ignorant when it comes to Christian-Jewish relations. As a political junkie and a diehard South Park fan, it would be interesting to know what their views are on different issues, because sometimes they make it ambiguous in their works even when a particular issue is a core part of the plot.

+Sum mer A very good description of their politics - from my point of view, it couldn't be better! My political opinions are very much on similar lines and one thing I hate, especially in youtube comment sections, are absolutely vile extreme right wingers who spill really disgusting racist BS and at the same time give props to SP just because they're anti-PC and hate liberals. Unfortunately, this contamination is increasingly present. Just an hour ago, I saw someone commenting on an unrelated video something to the effect of "children from mixed raced marriages are mutants and mixed raced marriages are caused by socialism", all the while having that Reality guy from _Safe space_ episode on their avatar with the username Mr Reality! I wanted to reply to him that Trey was in a mixed race marriage, but I just thought "fuck it, I don't want to be called a marxist by some angry ignorant douchebag". His warped mind probably thinks that Trey and Matt agree with him much more than they do, while if that guy was of any importance to culture at large, Trey and Matt would rip his arse to shreds with the same gusto as when they rip liberals. Most of all, I would like to say kudos to you, Sir, for that description of their politics. All this left/right BS clouds people's minds, and I see that, whatever *your* stances are, you have enough objectivity and sense to be able to accurately describe something as intricate as South Park politics. That is much rarer than it should be, and people like you give me hope :)
@Pickering144
8 жыл бұрын
+dov linhos It's funny when people think South Park is on their side, seeing as though they mock and criticize just about everyone for some reason or another. I usually agree with the messages the show conveys, and even when I don't I still appreciate that the show is tackling important subject matter in a way that forces people to think. That's why South Park is an intelligent show rather than just another dumb cartoon.
