Maurice Lacroix is definitely the most underrated watch brand, with so much creative ideas and production, it just gains little attention, and its finance situation is approaching bankrupt while Swatch even declined to acquire it. What a shame to this industry, and what a regret to watch fevers that people just like to spend money in big names to embody their status, other than appreciating a watch's intrinsic beauty and wisdom.

These watches are in the category 'whimsical' -- an interesting and frankly delightful horological category. Good show!

What a beautiful piezes!!!. The one with the heart form gears and "love reserve" indicator is truly original and funny. I love the philosophy of that brand, original complications, home made and nice prices. Very nice reportage, congratulations.

I follow this channel because I like watches and especially high end mechanical watches. I don't care the price of the watch and I m not going to own one of them. I just like to update and admire the mechanical Marvel's. Thanks.

I have noticed some some really cool Maurice Lacroix watches recently (especially that retrograde on MassDrop). I am genuinely impressed. I thought these guys were putting out a ton of quartz crap before like Movado or Raymond Weil. I had no idea that they were this cool. I will keep my eye out. I must admit, seeing Baum and Mercier as well as Maurice Lacroix, the watch world is getting ever cooler these days. I love this watch crises. It has been a necessary relief from the price gauging of the last decade or two.

I now am slightly confused with the pricing in the watch industry.. according to the information in this video all these are mechanical movements completely developed in house.. I do not know to what degree they offer precision but is this an attempt by Maurice Lacroix to gain market shares ? If brand name, materials used, complications, precision and uniqueness are factors for pricing are these watches made of lower grade materials or are they less complicated when compared to the Greubel Forsey's, Vacheron's and the likes ? Can someone please clarify ?
@Lesterf1eld

Much of the pricing goes into brand prestige and the marketing that a brand does. That being said, most of the time and value that goes into creating very high end watches like Greubel Forsey is in the hand finishing of the movements which Maurice Lacroix does not do, of course.

Not a big fan of Lacroix. The oddly shaped gears on the dial are interesting, but something bothers me about gears without purpose. The flloating seconds "complication" is also interesting to look at but how it works is not complicated at all. Nevertheless, I admire their effort to remain affordable, even with slightly more special editions

You're right that it's nothing super complicated, but it's nevertheless a smart and original take which helps define the brand differently.
@ProCelestialEmpire

There are a lot of smart inventions turning out to be quite simple and no complication behind, but it needs your imagination to come up with it in the first place, which is the hard part. Just like any magic performance, if you know how magicians do with their tools, for most of them you'll say "what? it's just this?", but the idea itself is creative and definitely worth admiration.
@GhostGunwork

Very cool watches from them, but I think their CQ are sleeping as there is a lot of dust on those dials. And you know it's under the crystal because it's moving with the gears. Never seen that much dust in a Swiss Made watch.
@user-zl2sc3bg3g
7 жыл бұрын
I see what you mean, but to be fair with them, these watches are not production watches, they are not meant to be sold, they are like their own archives used internally.
@GarrySkipPerkins
7 жыл бұрын
If you want to be that particular, you really should stick with Japanese watches where the QC is of a higher level.
@GhostGunwork

If they are just used for showcasing, that would make sense. It's the first time I've seen a swiss watch like this so I had to comment. Great video as always. Cheers.

Im a Maurice Lacroix enthusiasthic but for me is really sad and unfortunatly not all of this are true. My dream watch is the masterpiece chronograph skeleton, its a wonderfull piece of art. But on my country the min salary is about 600 euros, im a engenner and earn almost twice but ill never be able to give more than a year of a gross salary to buy One of this. Its sad but i cant change this.

I always liked skeleton but they are always at least $40K and up. This is a good choice.
Quite interesting watches. It's available here on my country and are priced very good. But after watching a lot of expensive watches on this channel, I was noticing some imperfections in the finish of these watches. Tiny ones bit noticeable. But then again, they cost a lot less.
