Hello dear viewers and sketchers!
I discovered the Hahnemühle 100% Cotton Sketchbook last year, with its weighty 250g paper. It is a little more expensive than the 200g sketchbook I am used to using, but I think it's worth it just because it's so nice to use.
Now it's my go-to sketchbook. In this video I share with you my very first A6 Portrait version of this adorable little book. It's so chunky! It fits perfectly into my SketchPocket and what I really love about it is that I can sketch anywhere at all...market, train, bus, plane. Standing, sitting...it's great. And with the magnetic clips I use to attach the mini paint box I made, and with a water brush for painting - I never need to bend down from start to finish.
I will admit that it took me a while to get used to the size of this book, and most of the time I am surgically attached to my A5 Portrait 100% Cotton book by Hahnemühle. But here's the thing: when you are with a group - especially your better half - and they are reluctant to wait around for an hour while you sketch, filling an A6 page is so much faster than anything bigger, so everyone will be happy. And we all want that. Same applies if you are already whole (ie. no better half's feelings to consider!) but are pressed for time. Job done quickly.
What do you think? Are you a convert?
I am, for sure!
