In previous videos we talked about the Block Foot and what its role in jumping is. Understanding its purpose is one thing, but knowing how the application of it can influence the outcome of the jump is another. In this video we take a look at 3 variations of block foot application for the 2-foot jump.
1) Parallel to the Plant
2) Slight Medial (toward midline) rotation
3) Excessive Medial rotation
I would recommend that new jumpers DO NOT play around with excessive rotation of the block foot out of the gate. It's important that the upstream joint structures have sufficient stability and integrity.
