Kwaito was straight up thuggin back then. Things have changed so much. I used to fear these guys as a little boy. Now our musicians are nothing but americans that happen to find themselves in the wrong country/industry. What happened to being South African maaaaaaaaaan???

I like foreign language music where I don't understand a thing they're saying. It makes me focus on the music and not the lyrics, it's so empowering. It's better than purely instrumental music to me because I think voice is such an important component of music, but that poetry should stick to being poetry where it belongs - not in music. Great song.

Mdlwembe's vocals are in Zulu and Tsotsi Taal (I think this is the right spelling...)
+Sam Native Indeed this song has too much violence and anger, they sing about gangs and bullies and murdering each other and crimes.. wherever they go there will widows remaining.

@jthouse51 If I'm not mistaken, and I may well be, what you're thinking of is Batelami, which means my friend. Mdlwembe is pronounced as its written. You here him saying it @1:09
Does anyone know where you can find an English translation for this song?

+Alex G Mdlwembe is a bully, So, the song is about Zola sending threats to a bully, letting the bully know that wherever they meet, there's going to be a fight until one of them dies..

This movie made this American girl fall in love with Africans. I have loved his song for years and years and next week I start a nanny job for little Nigerians. What a blessing and an honor. I’m freaking out I’m so excited! Thy loved here a year and a half ago and I get to instill the importance of culture and being proud amidst American heartache and prejudice. I love you all 🌹

85% of the lyrics in the song are slang. You to be brought up from a particular place and at particular time to understand them. They are badass though.
