We have a very similar method in Kyudo, hold an arrow to your nose while facing forward and measure to your the end of your middle finger with your arm out stretched , then add 15cm (about 6", for new archers)

Another great video, thank you. On a separate note I see you arrow rest tip aligns with your pressure button. Is this deliberate? Have you cut it back just adjust on wrap-around slot? Thanks Steve

@trujedi good observation. I shoot very thin carbon arrows outdoors so I have to position my rest quite close to the plunger. The end of the rest is slightly bent up to help stop the arrow falling off the rest if I happen to pinch it ( which I sometimes do if I'm under pressure during a competition). When I shoot indoors I use much thicker arrows so I lower the rest to allow for it.
