It makes me sad I've never had the honor of getting to see this band live... they're definitely at the very top of my musical bucket list! So insanely good, their chemistry is out of this world. 🙏🙏🙏

They hit an improvising high here. Everything is so different yet so familiar at the same time. I can name every single song played, in spite of how original the performance of every masterpiece is.

It's unfortunate that MMW is such a niche scene. Though, I'm glad there's that niche. It is an explosive expression at the crest of traditional American music history. Like any good historian, MMW approaches history with the attitude that attitudes are unavoidable. The subjective is embraced at every improvised flick, whap and pound. It helps me locate myself in social history. Well done guys.

It's sad that people view this "fusion" music (whatever that really means) as "boring Jam bands" or "stoner music". I use the term fusion because they are throwing a bunch of different styles of music into a melting pot and coming up with something new. In these performances, there is classical elements, there's all kinds of jazz styles, there's funk, there's latin, rock you name it. Not to mention John's use of analogue equipment, which he switches up all the time. Some night's he uses a Mellotron, other night's he uses a Hammond C3 instead of his B3, where as his C3 might have a bit more bass (also I've seen him use different Leslie cabinets). It's bands and performances like MMW where music is explored and discovered at the same time. Unfortunately, it tends to go over most of the public's head as and dismissed as a "scene".

@@SluffAdlinYou shouldn't be so afraid of using the word "fusion", that's exactly what it is. And these guys weren't/aren't the only ones giving fusion a good name following on the footsteps of the 70s greats and opening up to newer, fresher influences such as hip hop or electronica.

I don't think that was the Wood Brothers. I thought Billy wasn't interested in touring anymore. At least thats what i read somewhere.
