Great way to make it easy. I have 3 DVT's in my left calf, and am on Coumadin. An ultrasound was used to identify the clots, but I saw nothing in the video about using them to identify a PE. Is there a reason why ultrasounds can't be used to identify a PE?

Is there any utility in using tPA for initial tx of PE in those for whom tPA is not contraindicated?

Leaves off large groups of at risk patients which encourages students to not look at seemingly healthy patients, such as women taking hormones (esp over the age of 40), pregnancy, marathon runners, and people who have gotten off a long plane flight in the last week or so.
