Great to see the series back, and Shabnam seems like a good new host. Rachel is funny, but she did go through pretty much every topic available, at least from the Brit living in Germany point. So having some new perspective should be good.

what a beautiful series! I learned ruhezeit today and it's also a must in Finnish society. I can definitely relate to you, as an Uzbek with lived experiences in USA, Denmark and Finland - homesick remains always in the shadow but also a nice bittersweet knowing there is beauty in many place you call home. Great job Shabnam and DW to bring such a culturally rich program! Regards from Finland!

All the best, Shabnam!!! I am Chilean-Colombian, but I live in France since 2008. I can say homesickness is in a certain way in my veins because I could feel it from my mother, who kept her Colombian traditions despite of all the time she has lived in Chile. I grew up in a half Colombian, half Chilean family, where Chilean traditions from my father and Colombian way of living from my mother mixed until the point I wasn'treally conscious what was Colombian and what was Chilean. Here in France, I miss a lot Chile, but also the Colombian traditions which unite my family.

As someone who grew up in Germany, moved to Britain as a young man, stayed there for half a lifetime, then moved, post-Brexit, to Portugal and then Germany, I definitely know the permanent homesickness. Outside Germany, I missed bread, Spätzle, Leberkäse, some cheeses and honesty. In Germany, I miss Britain's huge variety of foods and cuisines available (and the spices and aromas! Indian food in Germany is shocking - either very bland or very sweet. "Pan Asian Fusion" restaurants in Germany serve bland mimicries of Asian dishes, usually from ready-made factory-made products), the culture of convenience (Germans apparently like life to be cumbersome and inconvenient), the user friendliness of websites and online services, and the general politeness (Germans apparently like their service sector blunt and unhelpful). And I definitely miss Portugal's less hectic lifestyle, tastier locally grown fruit and veg, tamarillos for Christmas, and the sea...

Hi Debashish! Yes I was born in Silchar, lived there until I was 13, moved to Kolkata and lived there until 2015. I'm sure it's the distance of Social Media, combined with a lack of social skills, but far too many people in these comments are being pathetically rude and whiny. Whatever your opinion of this video, Shabnam does her best to present herself to us and make a good start and the only response some people have is "This isn't Rachel...", "Where's RACHEL?", "I WANT RACHEL!!"...Keep it up, guys. Maybe Rachel will start an OnlyFans for you. In the meantime, download a politeness filter in your brains and figure out that even if you don't like something you can still express your opinion with some kindness and positivity...

Hi, Shabnam - Welcome !! Enjoyed your first presentation. It seems while Rachael will be missed, she has passed onto a worthy successor. I agree with the bureaucracy in Germany - I just applied for getting my name recorded in the Grundbuch for a share of my family property in Germany. The documentation & subsequent certification of those documents required was mind-blowing - along with the cost of compiling it all. I submitted it to the German Court on 31st May and as of today, am still waiting to hear if it has been completed - hopefully I will hear something before years end 😂 Looking forward to your next presentation.
