I remember when Christopher Cross released Sailing. I was around 12 years old, my Mom was a huge fan of his and had bought the record. We would listen to it often and Mom and Dad would dance in the living room. They both turned 76 this year and they still dance when this song is played. This song and many others just remind me of a simpler, happy time in my life living with my loving parents and my brother and sister.

It was rough and I’m miss her immensely but whenever I hear Christopher Cross I see my sister dancing to his music. That's true, but we should also want to know how the person approached the celebrity or what might have been going on in said celebrity's life when they were approached before we judge them. Remember the lyrics of "Limelight" by Rush - "I can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend."

First off, I'm jealous. You have met him, my sister and cousin met him back in the '70 when he was gigging around Houston before he went big. It's really cool that either Chris or his wife recognized you, and wanted to meet with you. I've never heard of anybody say anything but wonderful things about him, he's the real deal. He's also an amazing guitarist, as you learned by going to that show. The reason he needs so many guitars is that he uses different tunings, and it's faster and easier to have guitars dedicated to the tunings rather than retune the guitar, for technical reasons I won't waste time with.

I am an infusion nurse and I saw one of patients today for a 4 hour infusion. He is amazing as is his family. He went to sleep because of Benadryl and I talked to his wonderful parents for hours (every time I’m there we get along great). I brought up your videos (I’m a HUGE Phish fan) and they also love and knew about you too. So I gave them “homework”. I said look up “What a Fool Believes” “Ride Like the Wind” “Tube” “Boogie on Reggae Woman” I love all that you do. With your kindness and your love for the bass and funk You’re a good person and you are making the world a better place with your videos. ❤ Also, there is a video from about 8 years ago. “Ride Like the Wind” and Christopher Cross was shredding on the guitar. Michael (my man, too) McDonald was there. You’ll find it if you haven’t already ❤️

Christopher Cross's song ~Sailing~ was the first song I remember from him and it was the first time my mother and I ever realized we had something in common. I didn't have a father around and my mom tried to make up for that by taking my lil sister and I camping and fishing. We were on our way to one of those trips and that song came on the radio and my mom turned it up and I looked at her in shock and said, "You like this song too"? We still turn it up when he comes on. I'll always cherish that song.

So so happy for you! I went too a Rush concert on a date and he had backstage passes. We went backstage and up the stairs and there was just a couple of people there. Not any members of the band at that point. But we had a few snacks and headed back down the stairs and there stood Geddy Lee watching the opening band. And I approached him and we started talking and he was so nice and down to earth. I was amazed. We only chatted for a few minutes but I'll never forget that. There are humble people in this world and then there's the other kind. He was a very humble and appreciative man im sure just like Mr. Cross.
