Folks around here call those boots “Eastpoint Rebooks” after all the oyster men in Eastpoint (Apalachicola), Florida. I where them every morning until the dew dries off.

Aww Patrick, you stayed humble, trusted the Lord, and here you are. God is good, faithful and kind! I HAVE to remind myself, often, that failures are for a good reason, along with delays. Even though they can pinch your hiney!! 😣😆 Just keep thanking the Lord in ALL things.

Patrick, I am glad that you have a good crop. My guess is you may have a decent corn crop with the rain you have so far.

Corn looks exceptional. The kernels are starting to dent so we are past the water need hurdle

Do you ever have an issue with bacterial blight in your peas? If so, do you use a copper product?

Never had issues, or heard of anyone having issues with that.

It is not going to be long before handpick no longer becomes viable. Been issues all over getting crews this year. Ain't going to get any better anytime soon either by the looks of it. Cant say I blame them, I hate picking peas too, I wonder if a lay down harvester or picking assistant type machine would make it easier to get ahold of a hand crew.

Seems to be coming along well! I have to ask who you moved to Nashville with? That pea/bean picker seems to be the way to go when labor isn’t available.

My friend Kyle Everson. He is a studio and touring musician. He cut the dobro parts of Barefoot Bluejean Night by Jake Owen. He’s toured with ZZ Topp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jake Owen, Kieth Urban, Luke Bryan, Billy Currington, Chris Young, Lonestar, & many others. He’s currently touring with Martina McBride and doing session work when not on the road.

Patrick, I have a question for you. What do you prefer farming, the produce or the row crops? Seems like the produce is very labor intensive.
@PatrickShivers
Жыл бұрын
The produce is extremely labor intensive. 10 acres of produce = 1,000 acres row crop. If I can ever get completely set up to run the produce it would be great. I’m close, just not quite there.

Do you plant purple hulls?
@PatrickShivers

Yes. I showed some in the shorts I posted, as well as the crop update video, and the video documenting planting the pea crop. This year the purples made heavy and machine harvested great.

Great verse. Today we studied how sometimes you have to go down in order to go up. Joseph was thrown down in the well, sold into slavery down in Egypt, and then was sent down to prison, before becoming the most powerful man in all of Egypt. Iron sharpens iron. The Lord has to refine you in order to sharpen into a tool for doing His work.
