I lost my mom when I was a young. I came across your mom’s channel back in November 2019. Your mom’s recipes reminded me of the foods my mom used to make for us when I was a child. Your mom had such a comforting voice, she gave me back some of the most cherished memories through her recipes. Growing up without a mom was difficult. Many blessings & comfort to you and your love ones. Thank you 💞

I remember once that your mother spoke of Renee....and she got so teary eyed that she couldn't talk much about it.....and then Mr. Bucky spoke up and said something to the effect that "she was my daughter, too." I thought then, how wonderful it must be to have a step father that really loved and cared for the children. He also said, and I think in the same video, about how your experience at the Citadel had influenced his son to attend. What a wonderful, blended family.

Another comment if you don’t mind. I nearly died of Sepsis 18months ago. They woke me one night and asked me if I would want to be resuscitated. They said if I was I would be in a wheelchair and on dialysis. I said NO But I pulled through. I am in a wheelchair but not yet needing dialysis. I have told my lawyer I don’t want it. When that time comes however soon I am ready to pass. In the meantime I watch my iPad, read books and when it’s warm I sit in my porch and enjoy the view I have been given. My husband died 6 months tomorrow. Bless his soul. He was 80. A good life. I will be 78 on New Years Eve 🤗

Stephen, I’m so very sorry for your loss. I knew Miss Phyllis spoke a little about Renee and it was terribly painful. Renees son looks a lot like You. I can see The resemblance with Miss Phyllis and her. I can only tell you that your mom is so proud of you carrying on her channel. Most boys don’t step up like you have done. I always thought Miss Phyllis and I would meet as I lived in Beaufort, S.C. Just a couple of hours away. I’m the one that contacted you regarding the RV. Needless to say after years of marriage things fell down the tubes the past two months. I’m with my daughter in Tn after 16yrs if marriage, a big shock. I have my two dogs with me at 55yrs old. What a beautiful tribute to your sister. Phyllis didn’t really mention Renee too much and I understand it was probably very hard for her to talk about her. She’s so, so pretty and in that older picture, where she was probably 10 or 11, she looks so much like your mom. You also resemble your mom so Phyllis’ traits were quite dominate! It took many years for me to talk a little about it and after all these years I still get tears thinking about it. Loved hearing about life with Renee growing up and the family that she started with her husband too. My heart is full. What a beautiful family. What a testament to your Mom too that she knew what was best for you two and did the right thing by you. It’s not easy being a single Mom. I sometimes think about Mr Bucky and I wonder if he wasn’t an angel sent by God to you three. He was such a beautiful, sweet kind man and by all accounts he was a good Step Dad as well as husband. I just sit in wonder at how big of an influence Ms Phyllis and Mr Bucky were to so many of us. Their story isn’t just beautiful, it is one for the ages. You are another testament and further proof that your Mama knew what she was doing raising you kids. And to go further your own kids are amazing young men and women (yours and Renee’s). Now that is a true family legacy and all that is important in the end. You should be very proud. Thanks Stephen. Thanks for not letting your Moms Channel just fall to the wayside and thanks for sharing your memories and stories as well. I remember watching your Mom and Bucky's video where they talked about how they met and then your mom disclosed about Rene. Lost my only child over 10 years ago....The hardest thing I ever faced but I praise Jesus cause I will see him again.

Ms. Phyliss lived an awesome life, and gave the world some beautiful, productive kids. She did a great job with you guys. R.I.P. Renee, Phyliss and Bucky.

Thank you for sharing memories of your sister. I understand how stressful it is to a child to listen to parents fighting, its awful and scary. I grew up with some of that and made a point in my grown up life not to repeat that pattern in front of my children.

I can remember your mom discussing your family and mentioning Renee’s name. I don’t think I ever knew what happened to her but I knew she died way before her time. She’s very pretty and her children are very good looking and smart!!! I really appreciate Renee’s pictures and listening to your memories of her. Thank you.

Hi Steve, I found your Mom on KZitem while she was re-decorating an RV. I stayed because when you see someone with such grace and heart, it's like a moth to a flame, she just had that way about her, didn't she. Thanks for sharing your memories about her, Bucky and you and your sister!!!

Your mom sure had strong genes! Your sister was a carbon copy of your mom. What an emotional video for you to make. I could feel your pain in telling it, but I'm very thankful you were willing to do so. I hope it provided you with some relief. I don't think we ever get "rid" of the grief, we just learn to live with it. We never heard the arguing with may parents...it was just a constant coldness when they were in the same room. Never knew why until they separated, then the house became warm. That's what I felt as a child, since I couldn't put words to it. Thank you for telling us about your life with Renee.

Francie Garneau So actually because I’m Renee I have done research into the name and apparently it means born again so I’m not sure if Phyllis knew that or not when naming her daughter but you are right she was a carbon copy of her there’s no doubt about that.

I've been in homes that you describe as being "cool" & it's better than arguing, but a happy home is much more pleasant where people laugh.

It’s good to talk Stephen, lovely memories for you and your beautiful sister, she was taken far too soon. I think it really helps to sit and reminisce about the old times, good or bad, memories just flood back, and as you say, very therapeutic. I really enjoyed listening to you walk down memory lane, thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing about your sister Renee. I read your Mom's book titled Going Up. It helped me after losing my 38 year old daughter August 2018 to leukemia. Your Mom was an inspiration to me that I could make it.
