Rest in peace, Mr. Lance Russell, you're the true voice of Memphis Wrestling. :(

I just found out about this today (8/2)2012. Memphis had the best wrestling in the world, it was so good that my mom got so mad she had a mini stroke when she came home from the wrestling one time. We went to the wrestling EVERY Monday night. We would watch wrestling on Saturday morning, and go to the Mid-South Coliseum and pick up or tickets so we would not have to stand in line. Memphis wrestling was really before its time, I can remember every match and I had the time of my life...

I'm so glad I got to experience this moment of wrestling. You can not describe it. It's like when you see a meme talking about life before smart phones. This is something you cannot describe the experience to someone who wasn't there ❤

I would annoy my parents whenever I watched wrestling from Memphis, and whenever they did the road shows they sold out everywhere they went. West Tennessee was perhaps the bulk of their fan base, and if Jerry Lawler or Bill Dundee was on the card then they would sell out. I thought these guys were rich, but I was disappointed to find out in later years when I heard the news that poor Tojo Yamamoto committed suicide in his own mobile home in Lebanon, Tennessee.
