Even if Gatlin qualifies and wins a medal, he will still be a year younger than Merlene Ottey. She was 40 when she won the bronze medal in the 100m and silver in the 4x100m at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The bronze medal was only awarded to her in 2009 after the disqualification of Marion Jones.

To be fair, you basically need world class 100m speed to be a world class 400m runner.
@God-cm5xs
3 жыл бұрын
@@RaymondStone but you definitely don’t need 10.00 speed or sub 10. 400 runner can’t run 10.20’s but more importantly you need a fast 200m not so much the 100.

No shame in making the semi's in this competitive field. Boling is young and has time. Look at how much Laird improved over his time at college.

@@brettf2 Boling isnt the only young athlete and every one else has time. Most of the runners in the 100m where under 25. Micah Williams is a freshman from Oregon and made it to the finals. He is younger than Boling and runs faster, any improvement with him and Boling doesn't have a chance.

@@lilcourtny08 Obviously EVERYONE has time to improve. There's also Slayde and Knighton, and likely people we haven't heard of yet. Boling has a lot of upside and there's a lot people ready to either crown him or count him out. Give him time and let's see.

@@brettf2 until boling actually wins a big meet, he doesn't deserve this hype. he's just a nobody toiling in mediocrity and the attention should go to the men who are winning and leaving him in the dust. he doesn't deserve any 'kudos' whatsoever.
