Dan, you're amazing. I am an avid watcher of Scanner Danner and have learned a huge amount from his channel. Thing is he mainly deals with US machines, very nice but not relevant here in the UK. So when I found you it was gr8 to find someone just as amazing as Paul but on cars relevant to Europe. Huge thank you for everything you share with us. To further support Alec's comment, I'm in the states and I'm a scannerdanner subscriber too. I think I've watched all of his videos multiple times and I have his book. Danner's video's have been very helpful to me as I do work on many of the models in his videos. He's excellent. I'm a man that can admit to my shortcomings though. The European cars have been a challenge to me. Until I found DiagnoseDan, I was kind of lost when it came to vehicles on the other side of the pond. lol. I've always known the Euro cars were essentially doing the same thing ours are, I just didn't know how. Thanks to DiagnoseDan, I've gained a huge amount of knowledge and a FUNDAMENTAL understanding of these systems. I'm no longer worried about taking on that BMW with a weird running problem. Thanks to you DiagnoseDan!!! YOU are definitely the European version of Scannerdanner. Coming from me, that is the highest compliment I can give anyone in this field. Thank you! Keep the videos coming. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you're doing to help all of us.

I know the good old days of the pushrod engines are over, but... This looks like an overengineered piece of shit to me. How is it possible that both actuators failed. This overcomplicated inlet manifold is most likely constructed from the cheapest materials available, yet when it fails you have to replace the whole thing at a great cost. I once had a Ford Sierra with the 2.0 L DOHC engine without any complications like VVT and Variable Intake Manifolds. The car was falling apart, but the engine was still running fine after 460000 km.

I worked at a parts store and had a ton of customers come in with a tiny piece of paper in hand that the "mechanic" with the code written on it. They would ask me to give them the "part" that would fix it. If I sold them an oxygen sensor for an oxygen sensor code and it didn't fix the problem, they would then come back saying the mechanic said the part was defective. Imagine me handing the customer an intake manifold like that and having it returned all greasy and with parts missing...

I love your reaction to having to change the manifold. I know that feeling. Figuring out the problem is fun. Replacing parts is just plain drudgery.
