This is Marshall Mathers personality. This is early in his career. I believe he eventually got custody of his kids. He made a decision to stop doing long tours. He did a song with Akon and he said that Em treats music like a regular job. He comes in at 9 o’clock takes lunch at 1 and goes home at 5 to be home for his girls. He actually missed his chance to perform at the Oscars when he won for Lose Yourself because he said he had father duties. So I believe he got his priorities straight.

Hey you guys, try to keep the intros more concise and maybe a little higher energy, like KZitem is actually recommending your videos to people watching reaction videos. Go watch some videos by layedbakedfr or something, you want to get their attention, set the vibe, then show them the content and react after. Preamble should be a minute and or a minute and a half tops 👍🏻 in any case, just keep it up. If you keep doing this then a year from now y’all’s channel will totally look and feel different. So proud of you guys. More specifically, try to appeal to your target audience not your current audience. That way your videos won’t feel dated but rather, feel closer to timeless, for example only one person knew what you were talking about on the immortal technique video so you probably shouldn’t spend any time talking about that, go leave a comment for that person, 😄 you can’t please everyone, somebody will ashtrays want you to do something differently. Whatever you guys do, I just want you to succeed

So far you're the only ones who brought up that the song could also be interpreted as a suicide note. I agree. "Gone" can have the meaning of being away, yes, but "I'm looking down on you smiling, and I didn't feel a thing" - that part of the chorus, to me, is obviously about dying from overdose. That's the first place my mind went to, and I'm always surprised that reactors don't mention it. He was on sleeping and anti-anxiety meds, all downers, all numbing him - dying like that, you would not feel a thing. When this came out, he had already been to rehab once (in 2005) and then relapsed. He knew he was in big, big trouble, he knew that chances were, it was going to kill him eventually. Thankfully, it didn't, and he's been clean since 2008.
