Its crazy how I was coming to all of these conclusions on my own and I fall into this rabbit hole called metamodernism which closely aligns with weird intuitions ive been having recently.

I think the use of "modern" as a designator of a historic age grew out of the experience of intellectuals who were beginning to notice the effects of technological change on society. At a certain point, perhaps during the Renaissance, enough change was occurring during one's lifetime to allow people to designate between "old fashioned" and "modern." I also think noticeably speeding up technological change triggered political and philosophical movements we now call The Enlightenment.

Out of all the 24 books ive read this summer, this is the second best. It summarized all of the thoughts Ive had accumulated during my philosophy studies. All of the critique of actual academic philosophy, that is based on many, many weird and dogmatic premises. Especially the combination of different premises in this book, is almost equal to what I have crystalized as my own set of best methodological beliefs. And to this day I am highly irritated at how these are mostly abandoned not only by philosophical apartments but also humanities, that seemingly keep doing everything they do very uncritically. It will be a joy to integrate the framework of this book not only for my future works, but also for my personal life, as a potential escape of postmodernistic scepticism.
