Batman(1989) is probably my favourite movie of all time.I must have watched it a thousand times.I still watch Batman '89 to this day. Keaton is/was best Batman.Nicholson is/was best Joker.Tim Burton's best movie by far was his first Batman film.

He should have won the Oscar for Beetlejuice! Even if the movie was too bizarre for you, that was some great acting by Michael Keaton especially when you consider the character he had to play; no blueprint for that role! I still love Johnny Dangerously-that was some seriously crazy schtick

I like Michael Keaton and this is not a slam on him particularly, but on all rich people, that say my drive is not money in my life... its easy to say that when you are rich...

If Michael Keaton was driven by money then he would have done Batman Forever and Batman & Robin instead of turning them down. "Money was never the issue,'' explained Keaton's producing partner, Harry Colomby. ''Not doing this movie means he probably gave up $30 million, based on his back-end deal. His concerns were not self-serving. They were about the project. [After one meeting with Schumacher] Michael was not feeling confident. Creatively, it wasn't happening. He was worried that the character he'd lived with for two films wasn't going to be developed the way he wanted it to be developed." www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,302969,00.html Michael Keaton said, "I knew we were in trouble in talks for the third one when certain people started the conversation with 'Why does it have to be so dark? Shouldn't there be more color in this thing?' I knew I was headed for trouble and that it wasn't a road I was going to go down. The reason they weren't interesting was the reason I didn't want to do them anymore. I read the script [for "Batman Forever"]. I wasn't into it. I didn't like the third script... I just said 'I really don't like this, and I don't want to do it.' I don't pay much attention to what other people think. I didn't do the third one because the script was silly and light." www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=21659 www.contactmusic.com/news-article/keaton-i-would-turn-down-batman-forever-again

He did a outstanding job with it. If i were Tim I wouldn't have killed The Joker because in the next film Harley Quinn would've came into the picture. That's the way I would've told the story. Like Catwoman being obsessed with Batman, Harley is obssessed with the Joker.

I mean Batman Forever REALLY SUCKED! I hated it when it came out and I was only 13 years old when that film was released. It's a cartoonish, silly, dumb movie and still can't believe people actually liked it when it came out.

RMJ Movie Reviews In (VERY WEAK) defense of Batman Forever, I think the praise, at the time, had much to do with anticipation and expectation. 1995 was before the ubiquity of even dial up internet, so people craved blockbusters and big budget entertainment where they could get it. There’s so much more competition for eyeballs nowadays that your material needs to be good because people can afford more discriminating tastes. I was 8 at the time and convinced my dad to take me to see Forever twice, which was a very big deal for me! I, like you, now view Forever with utter cringe and am now also familiar with some of the backstory regarding the studio pressure to develop a particular type of product. I give praise to Keaton for saying “no” to playing a part in the vision we got.
