Being born and raised in a Catholic household was not necessarily easy for me. I was an overly conscientious kid, and not the brightest as it always takes an extra mile for me to learn or understand anything. My parents were not exactly strict in imposing religion, but they showed the ropes of the values we live by. Truly, it was easy for the spirit, but hard for the body to follow. It was hard in my early years, but it's gotten a lot better as I grow older and really gotten to understand peace. It didn't change how hard life can be, but having it sure made it a lot better in facing hardship than any other.

I'm going to be honest and realistic here: I was raised a Catholic but at age 16, I 'quit'. I was not miserable. My life went on 'smoothly'. It's a good life, a peaceful one... because I did not see. I went along with the world. I lived the life of "ignorance is a bliss." Almost 8 years ago I came home. I love being home, but now I see the real face of the world. I am sometimes angry and sad and getting miserable, when I am in contact with the reality of this world. But Jesus has warned us that being His followers, being CHRISTians, would not be easy, would not bring us peace but bring us sword that tears us from everything and everyone we love, of the world. Are you prepared? Just like what He asked the wealthy young man: would you leave all your wealth and follow Him?

Proverbs 3:5 says to “trust in the LORD…..”. It doesn’t say “trust in the religion you were born into!” The Great Commission tells us to “go and make disciples….” We do this by preaching the Gospel, the Good News. The Gospel is “Jesus came, He died, was buried and rose again.” Any who put their faith in JESUS (not religion) for their salvation will see the Kingdom of Heaven. Focus on Jesus Christ and what HE DID for us. Not on what we arrogantly think WE DO by focusing on our religion over focusing on being reconciled back to The Father through faith in Jesus Christ!

@@onlyimagine4 It is precisely that I trust Jesus that I follow the Catholic religion, because it is the Church He founded: "Go therefore, teach ye all nations...Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." The actual definition of religion is "the moral virtue (good habit) by which a person renders to God the worship and service He deserves in justice. God has a right to our worship and service, and we Catholics worship Him daily.(which if you do something every day, by definition that is a habit). Do you not worship God every day? I'm currently converting and I find myself seeing things in a different light now. An example being, after mass on this past Sunday we were all talking about how great of a day it was. When we all got out of the car one of the kids heard a hissing sound. We had run over something on the way home. My husband managed to drive off and make it to the local garage. Instead of being upset I though about it. We had been putting off getting new tires and we're supposed to get some pretty bad weather soon. He drives for a living. We now have new tires and no worries. God sent us a message that it was time. I could have been upset about the money spent, but it needed to be done sooner rather than later. Idk. I just see things in a more positive way now 🤷♀️

“I was raised Catholic. That means when I grew up I quit.“ One of the best comedic lines ever. Funny because it’s true. I was raised Catholic and was even an altar boy for more than two years. But when I met Jesus in my bedroom by myself, after reading a book by the Pentecostal preacher, David Wilkerson, I knew my native Catholicism had nothing to do with it. It still doesn’t. Not even after playing guitar for several Catholic charismatic prayer meetings. But it’s OK, because I believe every gathering of believers, whatever its organizational make up, if two or more are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst of them and they are The True Church.

I was born and raised Catholic my entire life, but because of other circumstances, I just became disinterested in the Catholic faith altogether. And nine years after that, I met my ex fiancé and he took me to a protestant church, and I felt like I was home. I have been a member at my church since 2016 and my church rallied around me when I got really sick and ended up in a coma. I had a 99% chance of not waking up and I woke up and I had to do intensive physical therapy and occupational therapy to rebuild my body and mind because of the brain damage I had sustained from not breathing for 14 minutes straight and going into cardiac arrest nine times in 34 hours. As long as you are, following Jesus Christ and you are living by God’s will and not your own, you are a Christian and I’m tired of the divisive Ness between Catholics and other religious beliefs but I understand where they’re coming from because the Catholic Church could be received as cult like in a non-believers eyes. I just think it’s amazing if you follow God. Doesn’t matter what practicing religion you are practicing as long as it is following the word of God.

You were robbed of your inheritance, the true Catholic faith, as almost everyone has for the last 60 years. No, not all religions are the same. Only Catholics have the concept of Sacrifice, and the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist which is offered daily to God on our altars, just like Christ did on Calvary. From this Catholics are nourished and learn to imitate their Master and Savior in laying down their lives to save the souls of poor sinners. People are capable of doing good deeds, but they cannot save souls without Christ's sacraments. God bless you and your family, may you come back soon to your birthright in a true Catholic church.

@@brandywineblue I wasn’t robbed of anything. One thing is is that it’s not my birthright because my mom is Catholic. My dad is Baptist. And my birthright is what my dad is. And just because I do not want to be a Catholic does not mean I’m not saved and I’m not going to go to heaven when I pass away. I read my Bible I go to church I follow Jesus Christ. I don’t need to go to a mass to do that. Personal preference is a real thing in the Christian faith. And you telling me that I need to go back to be saved is really really weird. And my birthright is what my father is and he is Baptist so you’ve got that fact wrong too. You’re proving my point that they have like a cult by saying that. There’s not one true branch of Christianity As long as I’m following scripture and living my best life with and for Jesus Christ then I’m saved.

@@jimmysmith2948 I’m half Arminia, So technically I’m from the first Christian nation and I’m not sure what you’re trying to say by saying that I am “in the wrong faith “ is wrong. As a Christian you should not look down on other Christian people because they don’t believe in the Catholic faith. And my beliefs are valid and so are yours. Stop trying to say that you are better as a catholic. It is wrong.

@@mirandamatthis7070 so you reject your mom and your upbringing, and you repeat yourself. Who exactly is in a cult? If your religion is teaching you that all religions are the same, then why insist others are different? Why not go be Buddhist? why are you even commenting on a video about Catholics? Will pray for graces for you and your family. . .

As much as I respect and think faith is a good think, what was said here isn’t an argument at all for the existence of god. It is shown that a person who has all the support in the world, will only benefit from that support if they actually recognize and realize that they are supported. A person could have everyone in the world on their side, however if they don’t recognize this then they will still feel unsupported. This is potentially why having a faith is good and recognizing god/having a faith can make people happier. That is because they think that God is there, hence they feel better and supported. I personally don’t believe there is a god but I still feel supported because I recognize I have my family and friends around me so I feel good and comforted. The idea of god is what brings this happiness for religious people but this happiness is not a proof of a gods existence

Not sure about catholic, but Christianity is the only way to go. Not only joy and happiness but explains the world better. You know things like love, good, evil, how life began and was designed, creation.

I was raised in Catholic school and the Catholic faith filled me with fear and unease- it actually was partially responsible for me developing OCD. Im just a follower of Jesus now. Dont be protestant or Catholic, just be a follower of Jesus.

Indeed, follow Jesus. But how does one do this? By being part of the Church He founded.

It is accurate, since by his own admission he apostatized, and therefore was no longer Catholic for a time. We shouldn't confuse the indelible seal of baptism with being a member of the Church. Otherwise we'd be forced to such absurd conclusions as saying a baptized person in Hell would still be Catholic, which is obviously not true.
