MIG-29 Fulcrum was developed by Novalogic and was released in 1998 alongside F-16 Multirole Fighter. Both were built on the same fully polygonal 3d engine (no more voxels) based on F-22 Raptor and Lightning II. The game was built to support 'Integrated Battle Space' which enabled 128 players to battle together over the internet with other F-16 and F-22 virtual pilots. All 3 sims were released in 1999 as part of the Jet Pack.

Since it was released one year after Raptor some things got improved. The game supported 3dfx Voodoo 1 and 2 3d accelerators and resolutions up to 1024x768.
Novalogic advertised that the real MIG test pilot was involved in creating this title - Yuri V. Prikhodko and thus flight modelling got some realistic treatment - unbalanced loadout had impact on aircraft handling. Flameouts and flatspins were also modelled and could be disabled through the options screen. You could also force really high angle of attack on that bird - trying to recreate real 'Kobra' maneuver was possible. There were also few surprises in avionics department. Since F-16 MRF got its fancy LANTIRN targeting pod, MIG-29 modelled IRST system which enabled you to silently hunt for your targets with IR guided missiles without the need of turning on your radar.
As with most Novalogic flight sims, there were several campaigns set around the world's hot spots each with a series of missions. There were also few training flights where you could learn all the fundamentals, available through Quick MIssion menu.
A wide assortment of weapons (compared to previous F-22 Raptor) was available. Ranging from IR and radar homing A/A missiles, through dumb and TV guided bombs with different payloads to A/G missiles with various guidance (laser, TV, radar, passive-radar) missiles and finally drop tanks.
Worth noting is that the "Bitchin' Betty" cockpit warning voice and other pilot voices were also recorded in Russian. You could switch English / Russian voice-overs in game options for ultimate immersion.
