Good job Dave. You got more 1 and a half by sixes out of that log than I would have guessed. Like intro, short and sweet.

It's easy to do..........all you have to do is handle the log from tree to mill.

I've heard this from the last few videos but it seems more pronounced in this one. There is a pinging when at idle which sounds like the clutch is trying to engage from time to time. Either too high an idle (which it doesn't sound like) or weak clutch springs. Anyway, nice video and the intro makes me happy that once you are actually sawing, you are using a powered mill. Hand sawing is for the very few and very young.

Thanks for the comment. The sound you hear IS from the drive belt. Because of the design of the engine/pulley/belt positions the belt slightly drags on the engine pulley and, occasionally, catches the pulley and jerks. In some of my videos, where the camera is looking at the blade, you can sometimes see the blade move slightly while the engine is idling. You'll see this on other WM mills also. Dave

Dave do you cover your mill when you're done for the day or do you leave it out in the open all the time

Strictly speaking, I don't cover my mill. I am fortunate enough to have a shop large enough to park it inside. I absolutely HATE leaving equipment outside.........although I am forced to do so with some of my stuff. Dave

What the moisture content of the log?
@TheOldManAndTheSaw

Good question..... But....not a clue! I don't believe I've ever THOUGHT about it, let alone actually checking it. I've milled logs that had incredibly dry sawdust and logs where the water was pouring out.
