Today we're having Moroccan Chicken Pastilla in miniature size. I had them at a Moroccan wedding for the first time and they were so yummy, that I had to try them at home. The result is amazing! A symphony of flavors 😍Slightly sweet but still dominantly savory. You can also freeze them very easily (unbaked). That way you always have fresh Pastilla in stock❤️Do you have a favorite recipe from Moroccan cuisine?

Ingredients for 8 Pastilla (around 10-11 cm in diameter):
700 g of chicken breast
2 large onions, finely chopped
4 tbsp of rapeseed or sunflower oil
3 tbsp of parsley, chopped
2 tbsp of cilantro, chopped
6 small eggs or 5 medium sized eggs
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
1 tsp of salt
0,5 tsp of pepper
0,5 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of turmeric
8 daffron strings
water (around 1 litre to barely cover the meat)
For the nut filling:
• 150 g of slivered almonds (or replace half with cashews like I did)
• 60 g of powdered sugar
• 2 tbsp of orange blossom water
Also:
• 300 g of butter, melted
• 600 g of filo dough / baklava dough
Important: Please always keep the filo dough covered with a kitchen rag while preparing, it dries out quickly.
For decoration:
some powdered sugar and cinnamon
180 °C top and bottom heat
20 - 25 mins
Have fun trying this,
your Kiki
