Thanks for posting...I recently had to replace one of the pivot pins after my Powerdrive v2 trolling motor deployed unexpectedly. This bent the rear pin and broke the corner off the steering motor housing. Had to order a new steering motor housing and a new set of pivot pins. I had no idea what order those rubber grommet things had to be installed, turned out my first guess was correct after watching your video, made the rest of the installation easier.

Do you have to take the head off to get the steering motor housing off?

I've never done anything with the steering motor housing, but I believe so. Taking the head off isn't that big of a deal if you do, the electrical connections are very simple.

So I just did the same thing but my trolling motor when I pull it up out the water it whont go all the way up into the storage pockets it’s like stuck right before it goes over the edge of pocket did I do something wrong ?

No, the new pads are stiff, it takes some time for them to soften up, mine was stiff too for a while. You have more leverage on the motor when its mounted to the boat to push the shaft down while pulling it in to get it to lock into place.
