I watched a lot of your modding videos, and there is in my opinion no one that does it better, great visual presentation easy to follow and read along and a pleasant voice. Looking forward to your GAC tactics. Greetings from Germany

Hahah definitely did keep us waiting. This last addition to the series was the one I was most looking forward to since being recommended said series through a shard mate. I was caught up and watched 105/105b as they were released but when you teased slicing at the end, I've been patiently waiting since. One thing I hoped you would cover is how much slicing mats to farm and/or "best bang for your buck" on mats, especially the gold ones needed for 6E. Thanks for the great series! Looking forward to the other topics, whichever you decide to go with.

It's something I could cover in the extra mod topics, it follows the same value model as everything else in the game, so I didn't really think to mention it here. 50 cost energy refreshes are best value Shipment materials typically average out at the equivalent of an 80 cost refresh 100 cost refreshes are, well, double. Actually, I do think that the GAC store has decent value on the gold 6-E mats, that's probably worth adding.

The Playbook Love the sound of all of that. The energy refreshes is what I typically do. I only spend 80 crystals if I need to slice a mod immediately. Maybe this a little more in depth and maybe something you can cover in that extra mod topics, but my other question was, where to start with in terms of slicing priority and how many slicing mats should one aim for (100 of each mat as crazy as it sounds?). To elaborate: 1. Is slicing priority according to color i.e. gold first then purple then blue and so on or would it be the inverse color order? (Slice the highest speed per color to build up the inventory or make space for fresh mods if they roll badly) 2. Should it be mod sets on the squad one is currently working on, to make the most out of time spent on said squad. Positive for this would probably be that one would be done (for now) and can move on to the next squad without worrying if they modded the former right. I’ve been building up my GG/Droids for a few weeks now and your Perfecting the Separarists video has been invaluable. There are some mods that I definitely want to replace once I come across the right ones, but there’s some slicing to be done there as well. Apologies for the long winded comment, there’s still so much I want and hope to learn from you.

@@bankairocks93 Honestly, don't overthink it. I farm slicing materials as they're needed and use them as they roll in from recurring events. There's no real need to pre-farm slicing materials ahead of time. You won't need them until you farm new mods that you're in the mood to slice, anyway. 1. Mod rarity doesn't really matter in this system since the value of the mod is judged based on whether it fails or succeeds on rolls, and how much it succeeds by. A blue mod that hits %offense 3 times but only lands at 1.11% doesn't intrinsically have more priority than a green mod at .95% (I'd argue it's potentially worse). Focus on the stat numbers you're seeing and what the mod can be, more than what the mod physically is. Definitely, the whole method is about chasing short term targets and you should be slicing what you're working towards. My Speed sets are currently super far behind in a lot of slots lately so I just switched back to working on them. Nothing wrong with long comments! If you want to hop over to discord.io/theplaybook/ it might be an easier place to discuss :P

You've got a great understanding of mods and generally of the game. Although I'd argue that slicing protection primary mods maybe worth it for that extra protection, but it's made it clearer for me that I should be looking at more percentage based protection secondary mods rather than flat mods. Thanks man. Great vid once again.
@ThePlaybook

Protection primaries only gain .5% percent. It's one of the worst mod gains in the game, except for maybe crit chance secondaries increasing by 4%.

@@ThePlaybook yeah I know, it's a bit of a bummer but atm I'm slicing mods that I use regularly on my main characters, like GK for example. I put as much protection on him as possible, with every little that helps as well. Can you direct me to your mod video about farming speed because no matter what I keep coming up short. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the great serie of videos! Do you have a special rule to use for speed arrows? They were so rare at one point that I accumulated loads of them... How would/do you filter them?
@ThePlaybook

They're honestly a weird subject and I haven't really sorted through mine either yet/save all of them. Generally, I'd fit the same approach as the general method, though. Try to match the set to the secondaries, and toss the bad rolls. If you have an overgrowth of speed set speed arrows, maybe favor the mods with higher rolls and better scaling stats?

No, right ?

Definitely no. Think of it this way, in any situation where you would have used that speed set, a simple 15 speed secondary would replace it for full value on most characters.

So are you saying %offence is better on my yoda who curently got 11k offence?
@ThePlaybook
4 жыл бұрын
Easily! At Relic 7, the %Offense target I gave to aim for give you 117 Offense, vs. 50 on flat. Even at gear 12, %Offense still gets you 62 vs. 50 flat. For GMY it's an easy win.

I'll be completely honest. I still have no idea how modding works. There's just so much info to keep up with and it's too overwhelming. Even writing down notes, I still don't get it.
