This is the fifth video I have watched, trying to find out how I cut my very leggy money tree back. Where do I cut? But nobody talks about trimming it back.

I’m in the exact same boat. I just inherited a neglected tree from a neighbor a few hours ago. What did you do? I just went hardcore and cut down about 2 of the 6 branches and will wait until those get some growth. Then I’ll cut 2 more, and then 2 more for however long it takes. In the meantime, each of the cut branches, I’ve stuck it into water hoping they’ll grow some roots (although it was so leggy, I had to chop 2 feet of stem just to fit into a large vase. Hopefully, this will work.

So your money tree will grow strait up for a little bit then you should see a bend in the stalk. Defoliate bellow the first bend up the plant so you can continue braiding.

Ones with 7 leaves (on one leaf) which are super rare and hard to find, are most popular in the Asian culture. And those the ones the feel brings good luck and wealth. Love these my friend has one she’s had for 25+ years it’s SO big and beautiful.

I bought one in a local store. They had a bunch but one had torn leaves. I bought it because I knew it would just sit there forever, and the plants that stay in that store don't usually last long. I'm not sure if I should trim the torn leaves off entirely, just trim off the tears or just leave them as is.

@brittanymontague5084

It’s likely a bread tie; they are used to hold the individual stems/trunks together when braiding.

I have this plant in my office and it is bright but it is not in front of the window. I do use a grow light BUT I have some leaves on the bottom that are getting some brown spots and I have a few leaves fall off that are completely dry. I bought a water meter and it says the plant is "wet" soil feels dry at the top. You think the browning is too much water?!

My pachira is growing a lot and has big leaves ❤ I bought it in a small pot and I had to repot it 3 months later because of all the growth ❤ however my cat chews its leaves sometimes and I don’t know what to do … should I cut them off or just leave them as they are ?

My money tree is growing brown spots on it’s leaves & the leaves are also falling off quickly. I don’t water it too much & it doesn’t get too much direct sunlight. I’ve noticed some of the smaller stems are starting to get soft, but the actual trunk is still really healthy. What does that mean & what can i do to help it from dropping too many leaves?

Is it at all possible to continue to grow a money tree plant in water instead of soil once the roots begin to take after propagating it? Also, can you suggest a fertilizer?

I saw some money tree at my local supermarket. There were 3 left, two had brown spots on the leaves and so much dirt had fallen out you could almost see the roots. 1 looked better than the two but there were several broken stems. I didn't buy any fir fear of buying a plant that would soon die due to their conditions. What do you think? Could they be saved?
@minji4606
2 ай бұрын
Late comment but, at long as the brown stump aren’t mushy it can be saved. I would check and get rid of any rotten roots. Brown leaves can’t be cured however money tree leaves grow super fast and overtime you can trim off the brown leaves.

Keep the soil moist but let the top inch dry between waterings. sometimes curling is due to exposure to excessive light or drafty areas.
