I was lucky enough to catch them at the Isle of Wight festival (1970 as i recall). I will never again know the feeling of complete freedom and just getting lost in the music as i did listening to the Moodys as the sun went down on a perfect day 😎❤️. If only the young of today could experience 5 minutes of what life was really like back then, they would throw out this corrupt cabal of money grabbers and demand our lives back.

I think if they seemed unkind, it was because of the enormous pressure they must have had on them. They probably couldn’t get bogged down with very much dialog. They are still the most unique band in history. Saw them at Red Rocks, but several other venues, too. They still bring tears to my eyes.

Traveling across country listening to Moody blues with a super car stereo was the best trip I ever made to CA. Music was a very important part of our lives back in the 60's and 70's in high school and into the 80's until computers took over and many talented people are over looked nowadays if they don't belong to the club running the music business nowadays. Back in the day you had to practice and be really good because there was more competition and expectations were higher. Music and chorus was really stressed more and appreciated in school by the public not just sports.

Not only do I believe this to be a form of musical genius, This music was part of my formative years and taught me to appreciate art in a deeper perspective.

I love u-tube. I get to watch concerts I had never seen. Moody Blues were the best in my generation. “Nights in White Satin” was the best song to slow dance to in high school. I graduated in 1976.

In 1974 I would play Seventh Sojourn over and over as I drove north under the stars at night through the California desert headed to ski in Mammoth, my friends all drifting off to sleep. My friend Phil passed away years ago, and Jim is somewhere in Mexico. At 67 I look back and smile.

Saw the Moodies at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, 1979, Ray Thomas said during his introduction speech "we've played some places but this is the first time we've played in a f@@@ing cow shed" At 72, still my favourite band.

Imagine waking up one i.morning after a nuclear attack and you go outside and everything is a horrible fray, except there's something growing green 420 feet away and you walk over there and it's a Marijuana plant along side of The Moody Blues catalog. Yes, there is hope. R.I.P. Denny Laine

During the late 1960’s and 1970’s the Moody Blues were the ultimate journey into the inner consciousness explorers. The wondrous album covers were always a joy for fans and followers of the band as well. I believe “Every Good Boy Deserves Favor, and Seventh Sojourn were my favorites, with Question Of Balance a close third. Ray Thomas’ flute playing me to take up the flute as well.

10-22-23: "... the ultimate journey into the inner consciousness explorers." Try re-writing that in English. Perhaps the word "into" can be replaced by "for." The Moody Blues (nor any other band) did not/could not go "into... explorers" (of any kind).

I saw the Moodies play with the orchestra in my city, I believe it was mid 90s. My friend & I lucked out and had 2nd row in the middle. We knew where they were staying, we went with only a hope & a dream..and Gordon Marshall, drummer & John Lodge came into the bar. Will never forget, Gordon came over right away as am sure he knew we'd been at the show, cause he saw us. Then John came in, I thought I will never have this chance again..I had on a Moodies pen on my jacket. John said, where'd you get that? I said I bought it...then I said, John I've been waiting for this awesome opportunity for 25 yrs...and he graciously came to our table where Gordon was already there. All 4 of us talked for over 2 hrs. Unforgettable, of course they took pictures w/ us, signed our concert books we'd purchased at the concert. Truly we talked not only about music, but many other social issues. It was like talking to friends I'd known for yrs, and I think they felt comfortable as well. It finally got so late, & they had to be up very early for their flight to another state for a concert the next night. My pics I took of course are framed & proudly displayed in my home...It was MAGICAL!! btw..have seen Moodies many times, but this time was Beyond..I try to see them every time they are here....XO

+BK Swanson (Buffy) Life is sweet at times. A magical night. When I saw them in concert about 20 years ago, it was more than music. It was ... idk. Fun, spiritual, eternal, good, sweet, powerful. We were fans before then, and well, I can say that I experienced love in that concert. I was changed, came away a better man, more tolerant, etc Interesting.

I've seen the Moody Blues live many times in concert, and listened to those first seven albums, and Long Distance Voyager countless times. Trying to compare them to any other band is always an apples to oranges comparison. There simply isn't another band like them. I wish there was, but there simply isn't. The deeply philosophical lyrics, the classical overtones, the use of rare, unusual instruments... I'm deeply saddened that the band is no more. It ended the day Graham Edge died, which was also the day my mom died. How's that for irony...

I’m 74 too. I made some beautiful, slightly mind altered love to their music in 1970 and on and also did some truly wicked things with their music as a soundtrack. I still dream about both when I hear their music. Thanks for all the memories. . . .

Doesn't get any better than these guys. These guys love playing and clearly love being together as one of Rock's most enduring bands. Methinks that "The Story in Your Eyes," especially that opening guitar riff, is as underappreciated a rock song as there is. What a base beat! They sound as good as they did in '64!!! Bravo, Moody Blues.
