NassirYT Humanity was the evil one, even in this future where we supposed to be more enlightened being due to our knowledge of science we discover that we go back to the evil things of the past such as murdering expendable slaves, lies and deceit in order to save money and make someone else rich. I mean at one point did humanity think that just because a sentient being was created in a lab and not in a human womb was it okay to do this?! Seems like we are playing gods again.

(Still do when ever I watch it again). Some tears were for me but mostly for Sam. I loved the Gerty character (Kevin Spacey). Sam Rockwell did an absolutely incredible job acting in this movie Too anyone reading this that may being going through their "Moon Movie loneliness" hang in there, what ever troubles you will get easier. This ST is yet another one of Clint Mansell's masterpieces. Right up there with the fountain and Requiem for a Dream. This movie is soooooooo underrated. The part when Sam, actually talks to the real Sam, breaks me up. "I just want to go home". Knowing that he really had no home to go to.
@TheInflicted

The really brilliant part about this scene is how the director shows you that Sam isn't looking at Gerty when Gerty "cries", so we, the audience, knows that the AI really does feel empathy for Sam. It knows that neither one of them ever gets to go home. All it can hope to do is keep Sam happy as long as he's alive.

Consider this: GERTY had to bring the arm slowly over from another room, in order to console Sam. That means GERTY predicted it perhaps 30-60s in advance. Watching the arm slide into frame adds an eeriness... a calculated tenderness. But is computer-calculated tenderness any different from human tenderness, if the end effect is the same? Because GERTY is following a program, does that make his tenderness less real? Isn't Sam following a form of program, too? Aren't we all? Incredible movie.
