I was there at the Oakland Coliseum for Prince's live concert. Sitting in Section 107 where he did ride that bike around the Coliseum floor into the purple Hall which was near my section. @@pundiparadox9840 I will definitely take another look at Sheila's comments. Appreciate your points!! From my experience as a longtime fan of both Prince and Morris since their first releases, the following article is much more typical of how Morris has consistently commented about Prince. Purple Rain' star Morris Day opens up about Prince's 'Jesus complex' nypost.com/2019/10/12/purple-rain-star-morris-day-opens-up-about-princes-jesus-complex/? From my viewpoint Morris has always been very quick to highlight Prince's faults and begrudgingly slow to highlight his positive qualities. Did Prince have behaviors that were extremely difficult to deal with? Of course he did! However I seriously question Morris's timely comments about his own deeply moving last conversation with Prince. Getting choked up as if he's been Prince's most loyal friend. I don't doubt that some of his feelings are quite sincere. I just wonder. Could it be he believes this will sell more books... Once again, thanks for the sincere comments on Sheila E. and your perception of her as a friend of Prince.
@pundiparadox9840

@@ATLienForLife Its no secret Prince pissed a lot of his friends (the inner circle) off. That's the Gemini bonus gift I suppose? We are both long time fans; I started dancing to Prince in second grade, I have been a fan since the release of 'I wanna be your lover.' For You is my favorite Prince album... yaddayadda. Morris was there Loooong before Shiela E and I do believe they have or had a brotherly bond. Shiela was an jilted ex- lover with an ego bigger than Paisley Park. She criticized Prince just like the rest, didn't even speak to him really, but had the nerves to stone face go to PP asap to look for that missing will and anounce she wants the rights to his music. Mmkay... I'm sure Prince was and will always be loved by the people that toured and jammed with him. It's no debate. I simply commented on the video and Morris's demeanor. I don't need to read old articles & comments to form an opinion on two people I will never meet. Well, i did catch Morris's handkerchief last month (close enough). Anyway, I'm sure there are some things Morris will never tell to sell a book as well. May his dearest friends continue to give us the good, bad, and closure. Peace & humility.

@@pundiparadox9840 Pundi Paradox Much respect for you and your viewpoint! I was 14 (the Summer going into 5th grade) when I heard Prince on the radio the very first time. It was the song "Soft & Wet" and it literally changed the way I listened to music. Not sure exactly why, but it was THAT song which triggered an acute awareness of all the sexual innuendos and double entendres. Of course I already understood them to a certain degree. Now it was as though I had been granted entrance through the matrix. A much deeper grasp of the subtleties. It was incredible! So many songs I had listened to up to that point were suddenly new all over again. I could hear things I was never able to before. Prime example: "Sweet Sticky Thing" by the Ohio Players. Now I could more clearly grasp what they were REALLY talking about. It's nice to share thoughts, perceptions, opinions and memories with another longtime fan of His Royal Badness, Mr Prince Rogers Nelson. Peace to You from the ATL!

Met Morris Day at a public grocery store in Vegas a few years back. Walking slowly with his hands crossed behind his back, he nodded his head as to say " whats up" as we passed. No words were spoken. No gimmick; he is Cool.

Prince's reaction toward Morris probably had something to do with Denise Matthews dying spontaneously

The Time performed at Paisley Park in January 2016. Denise passed Feb. 15, 2016. Prince was already introspective at this point of his life.

Denise Matthews was told by her doctor that she had a terminal stomach illness with 6mons. to live, she posted on Facebook or Instagram this info. August 2015. So, someone had to know.

Delgado smooth72 - You are talking out of your ass. How do you know that Prince didn’t speak to her in years. He actually did. I hope Vanity Denise Matthews Family reveals the truth. They know. You stupid ignorant people know nothing. What we do know is he cut Mayte Garcia out of his life. He wanted nothing to do with her and she was banned from Paisley Park. He also cut ties with Sheila E for years because of that book that she wrote. Sheila E is a snake. All of this will come to light. Ask yourself why did Vanity’s family turned her funeral to a private one when it originally was going to be opened to the public and why did they hold off her funeral service for Prince to attend. The answer is that Prince was still close to Vanity. To all the real Prince fans and you know this to be true. We knew when Vanity died it was over. Prince lasted only two months after her. Prince did not look the same after Vanity died.

I was blessed in 2005 Atlanta Phillip Arena to see Prince. The big surprise was Morris Day and the Time putting on an amazing show and Prince not only performing every song I loved but him giving everyone as they left a free copy of Musicology. One of the best experiences. You are forever missed. I appreciate hearing stories about you and your sense of humor. You continue to drop these surprises along our life's journey.
