Motorhead in the 90s in Vienna and I was in the front row, then for 2 days there was a whistling and roaring in my ears. Lemmy was not only a brilliant musician, he was also completely down to earth. A journalist once asked him why he, a world star, still lived in an apartment at sunset. He replied that his local bar was around the corner and he had rent control. The apartment was also full of memories and souvenirs from his fans and friends😆

@tonykomarytska3934 Countless discussions about it, but the fact remains, Motorhead = Rock and roll, NOT metal. And that's actually a compliment, because if people mistake your rock and roll for metal, you're playing some god damn hard rock and roll.
@erikthompson619

One of the most important and well-loved hard rock bands of all time. Motörhead were role models for countless bands to come, most famously Metallica. They also gave us 40 glorious years of music without ever losing their fire and quality. Formed in Britain in 1975 by their singer, bassist and undisputed leader Ian Kilmister - better known as Lemmy. He had previously been part of another famous hard rock band, Hawkwind, and sang on their all-time biggest hits "SIlver machine". "Ace of spades" is Motörhead's most famous song, the title track of their fourth album released in 1980, by their most famous lineup, active 1976-82. The other members were guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil "Philthy Animal Taylor. In 1982, during a US tour, Clarke left Motörhead to form the band Fastway. Careerwise, this was a mistake. Fastway were not a flop, but no way near as successful as Motörhead either. Taylor were in and out of the band a couple of times before being sacked for good in 1992, being too weakened by drugs and alcohol to play the drums properly anymore. In their heyday, the three produced countless classic songs like "Overkill", "Bomber", "We are the road crew", "Iron fist", "No class" and "Motörhead". Lemmy kept the band alive through the good times and the bad, producing great songs to the very end. Among the more famous are "Killed by death", "Hellraiser", "Burner", "Deaf forever", "Orgasmatron", "In the name of tragedy", "Born to raise hell" and the sad war ballad "1916", that was recently covered by Sabaton and met with tremendous acclaim. And Lemmy also kept his integrity to the very end, refusing to accept money for projects he didn't believe in, living the simple but wonderful rock'n'roll life he loved, with parties, girls, playing live and making music. The only battle he couldn't win, was the one against cancer. But he died peacefully, painlessly and with great dignity as an unbroken hero on the 28th of December, 2015. Philthy Animal Taylor had passed away only a month before. The last surviving classic Motörhead member, Fast Eddie Clarke, crossed the rainbow bridge in January 2018. But as long as there is still one fan of hard rock and heavy metal left in this world, Motörhead will never really be gone.

Motörhead played loud. I mean _LOUD._ Whenever someone beat them, they played even louder. Broke the world record several times. _"Everything Louder than Everyone Else."_ One of the times I watched them, we were outside in the vestibule when they got on stage. We had to stay in the vestibule for ten minutes before our ears had become accustomed to the insane level of noise coming from inside the concert hall. My ears were ringing for the next full week. I'll never forget that concert.

Lemmy and the rest of the band you saw in this video are dead. For me it is very sad but when you have a thunderstorm over your hometown you will know that Motörhead are playing a gig in heaven. Enjoy it. 😁🤘🏻 And if you wanna know about the opinion of Lemmy you have to listen to the song Orgasmatron. Orgasmatron was a word out of a movie of Woody Allen but he used it in a funny way. But Lemmy tooked this word for a zynictic way to have a look on this world. And that is the reason why I love Lemmys lyrics. These are true and showing my kind of thinking. He spoke out what I couldn't put into words. The funny way and the serious way. He was a soulmate to me.
