MotorWeek what about the 0 to 60 test results. How about the slalom test, and breaking test? All your reviews use to have these as standard road test. I would love to see them back when reviewing a car.

VW didn't provide a Golf or GTI to Motorweek in Maryland (their home base). Thus, Motorweek went to San Francisco where VW had the press release. Thus, Motorweek was limited on their time test driving the vehicle.

the ride quality was very disappointing, even in dcc comfort mode. Just driving over a recessed manhole cover caused a very loud noise and shudder through the car that was unacceptable. the brakes had a weird bite to them when I was moving forward at a traffic light and had to stop, it's not linear. it's a shame because the interior is great, the room and driving position are great and I'm 6'6" and had plenty of room.

Im looking into buying a GTI myself, it would be my first VW car, let alone first new car..... my question is for anyone who owns a Golf or VW vehicle in general, What would you give on a reliablity score from 1-10? ( 10 being great) I know all cars down the line require work, but what would I be looking at as far as maintenance cost goes? Being that its a German Manufactured car. Of anyone can help My Family would Greatly Appreciate it. I own a 1999 Toyota Camry LE but its time for a change.

Anyway make it in Canada and/or the US and I will buy the GTI but made in Mexico for $36,000. No way. Liebowitz they are not $25,000 here in Canada. Equipped like my 07 GTI the price with tax etc is $36,000.

Ara J yes i agree, most GTIs won't be able to "get close to you" however you still have a v6 mustang. GTIs weren't really meant to compete with your mustang however a Golf R or R400 will give you a run for your money and they aren't FWD
@theaudiophilestore
10 жыл бұрын
Here's the downside to getting the Dodge or the Ford... Besides the ridiculous insurance premiums, you get inferior gas mileage, poorer handling, and less people/cargo space. Great for a second car but a V-6 still won't get muscle car fans to give you a thumbs-up when you drive by (you will need a V-8 version to do that), and most will want performance (which the GTI will out perform the V-6 Mustang or V-6 Challenger or V-6 Camero for that matter) along with practicality. Happy car shopping!
