typically i am anti-changing lyrics in covers but of course john is gonna come through with something a million times more badass than the original, not to mention changing the lyrics to an anti-conformity song is the most fitting power move ever

Makes more sense than the original line, which was 1. pretty cringe 2. exactly what you would expect from a punk rock fantasy. Makes a lot more sense for someone rejecting the conformity of the scene to note that they watch cops instead of killing them and reading more mature authors like Joan Didion rather than Kerouac's fairly played-out prose.
