I just realized you posted this 2yrs ago but I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I'm glad you have these wonderful memories with her though. I have a couple of older shows that will always remind me of my Grandma as well. We use to watch 'Golden Girls' together back when new episodes were still on primetime. Also, she loved the movie 'Sound of Music' and it would come on each year on New Years Day so it was kind of a tradition to make some popcorn and watch it every year. ❤️ May both of our Grandmas rest in peace. I hope you are doing well. 🙏❤️🙏

I bought a DVD box - THE BEST OF MISTER ED, VOLUME ONE (3 discs) - yesterday (Saturday 16.12.2023) from a flea market in Hämevaara, Vantaa (Finland 🇫🇮) 😺👍. And it cost only 0,50€ 😹👍.

I used to watch this on "Nick at Night" at my grandparents house on their pull out couch in the 80's when I spent the night and stayed up passed my bedtime... I was just reminded of the theme song today and I'm sure this song will be stuck in my head for the next week! Ha! ❤🎶🐎🎶👍

We had to put my sister's 36 years old mare down yesterday and I wanted to hear this song. This was my favorite show when I was a kid in the 60's. I was horse crazy. I had my own pony and sang this song to him as we rode. Now, I'm in my 60's and still love the show and still horse crazy. Thanks for the memories. R.I.P. and happy trails to Snoopy, Lady, Tim, Murphy, Honey, Ebony and of course, Mr Ed.

The vocalist is none other than the theme's co-composer, Jay Livingston; he recorded the vocal at virtually the last minute because the original choice- an Italian opera singer!- was deemed "unsuitable". His soundtrack was supposed to be a "temporary" one, but his voice was heard through the end of the series....

OMG! This is a great post! As a kid, the closing credits for strange reason used to scare the heck out of me! I guess cuz at the part when he says, " You never heard of a talking horse?... Well listen to this!" It sounded kind of loud. Then you hear with a booming voice, "I AM MISTER ED" lol Thanks for the post!

When I was little, i always wanted my dad to sing to me. Unfortunately he only knew my 5 songs. This was one. So I actually had this song memorized ever since I was maybe 7 years old but we didn’t have internet or KZitem and that show never showed when I was a kid so I literally got to hear this song for the first time maybe 5 years ago 😂 My version is just slightly different so it’s throwing me off. I was taught during the part “Unless of course the horse of course”… And this guy says “that is of course, the horse of course”… 😂 The other songs I knew without of hearing were Beatles songs 😂
