Love your reactions. Always so interesting, informative and enthusiastic. I just have to point out that Quincy Jones is just their manager though. They produce their songs themselves, together with Simon Petrén. I heard one of them say, in an interview, that they don’t send Quincy anything, not even demos, until it’s completely finished. Also, they’re thinking so far outside of the box that they've completely lost sight of it, and it’s utterly brilliant. 😁

This is a level 42 reincarnate track.....the song structure, melodic sense, pop corn(y) aesthetic that drives some fake sophisticates crazy with snobbery but is just joyous, watertight pockets, insane musicianship. (that's where that 80's sensibility pops up, in my view)

One comment for the algorithm ;) Your joy from their music is totally contagious! Also as a drummer myself i agree with you that one of the things that separate greatest drummers from the rest is being able to play relaxed.. i am slowly getting to playing fast 32nd notes around the kit but i am so tense while doing it, holding my breath..

@@MusicShed yep, that’s what it takes, exactly. And to re-train what has become a knee-jerk reaction to many of us: playing fast and tightening up-, that takes time and patience… Henrik said in an interview that he spends a lot of time practising minimal movements and effort when playing his bass- and you can tell, I reckon-. 👍

Keep up the great work...and oh yeah you made a slight reference to something having a slight "Thriller" feel. Could I take that to mean you either don't realize or maybe have plans to react to the Cory, DL rendition of "Thriller?" This is a righteous treatment of a beloved classic. They did the original justice and still made it their own. How amazing is that!

@@MusicShed David, it’s your channel, and I really appreciate your takes. You do you. I just think you missed the “bass line within a bass line” where Henrik is hitting fast triplets while maintaining an awesome groove. You’ll also note they keep the transition to chorus WITHOUT a 7th until the very last refrain, which I thought was very noteworthy- it kept the tension high until the end of the song, and you were correct where they modulate at the very end- it’s very effective. And on a personal note, I was drawn to the brass arrangement immediately. It’s simply phenomenal. Also note Aron’s deft switch to third time during the end of the bass solo. I’m just used to you nailing the technical stuff more than you did this time. But I suppose I would be distracted if someone handed me a shiny new Korg, too. 😉
