Good stuff! @ 6:20 you said you could go higher if you needed, but earlier you said you were going to max out the torsion bar preload?

I guess I should have specified. With smaller bump stops you can go a little higher in the front.

I wonder if you can highlight the differences of this compared to the Delica in terms of mechanical data (transmission, diffs, low gear etc)

I live in Australia and the Toyota Hiace has been part of tge commercial vehicle seen for many years and 4X4 are very uncommon we did get people movers especially the Toyota Tarago the first generation was based on the Toyota Liteace which l did own one what you have is the Hiace people mover never sold through the Toyota dealer network l have seen a couple around but they are JDMs getting back to the liteace mine was rear wheel drive but you could get them in 4X4 but people who bought them didn't raise them put big tyres or winches on them didn't accessories them at all left them standard when they came out there wasn't a 4X4 scene at all in Australia but the 4X4 liteace was about 2 inches higher than a rear wheel drive liteace the only way you could tell that they were a 4X4 is a decal on the both sides towards the rear of the van also the Hiace had the 22R engine up until 1997 when Toyota stopped making the motor l own a 1997 Toyota Hilux with the 22R engine and l am very happy about that what a fantastic engine it is the best 4 cylinder carburetored vehicle l have ever owned and l have owned a lot if 4 cylinder carburetored vehicles cars vans and one ute the Hilux

I added the 30” tires first (still have not lifted it), and WOW did that 2” of clearance from just tires make a difference! I might not even consider adding a lift other than it needs new shocks anyway, and i hear ride improvement is huge.

True! Are you running the stock wheels with the larger tires?

Lovely shiny van and great vid. Need to re-watch to check details. Unsure you're using the right place for your rear stands, but that's your rodeo. 2 questions, please? 1What did you settle the front torsion bars at and 2 what adjustment did you apply to the rear brake load compensator valve?

I honestly cannot remember how many turns in or out I did on the torsion bar. I should have wrote it down.

Looks great. been thinking about doing the same to my Hiace but I was worried about the increased angle on the drive shaft. You haven't had any trouble?
@realtoyotology

I have not had any trouble or vibrations. It is definitely a concern. Keep your rear u-joints lubed and keep an eye on those front CV boots

I just ordered some smaller bump stops for the front to get a little more travel. I might do an update video once I get those installed. I’m very happy with the ride so far!
