Love it mate! Can't wait to see it all cleaned up! My uncle had a red VP Clubby with those wheels for ages - only had 80k on it when he traded it in for a VZ Clubby (which he still has). That old 180kw 5L sounded fantastic back in the day! Pretty sure you are right about the spare being a yellow five spoke too. Cheers 👍

Just found this video. Great looking VP! I've got a cardinal red one, build 077 from Jun 92, bought it in Jan 94. Bit tired now, needs a bit of work but was my daily drive until early 2017. The rear spoiler on this isn't the same as mine - my spoiler doesn't have the "droopy" ends over the quarter panels and the brake light is on the parcel shelf. My spare is a silver factory wheel with (I think) a 205x65 tyre.

Hi legend, yes the air box should be as you described and without the cold air induction over the shroud. The spare will be a hsv 16 x7 42p in yellow with the rectangular sticker (round stickers are vr vs) that 15 inch spare won’t fit over the front calipers. Bonnet badge is wrong as you suspected,it is the same as the wheel center cap. Guard badges are correct. Also check the garnish for small cracks as normally if the tail lights are cracked then the garnish will be too. Cluster slides are normally snapped off too (same as vq statesmen, Vp Calais) if you are looking for some. Don’t lose those factory rims either as they are now made of unattanium :). Unique to Vp hsv. My estimate is $32.700 Awesome work on the channel mate.

This is the senator there were 5000i senators too. About 150 of them mostly in senator quartz purple. They were all auto like the vp gts (said to have trans upgrades) and have a 200kw engine with bigger cam and head work i think. Plus group a 328mm front brakes. They had a blue interior and could be optioned with full leather and sunroof for example. There were also a handful of 5th anniversary 5000i senators which are even rarer.

You can say that bloody again every 1980 Plus 2 about 1990s or close to 2000 have skyrocketed in price it is god damn ridiculous even parts it is just shameful and to see that a lot of the guys are selling parts of these cars and then once they're done with the cars after all the gear is gone it just gets crushed so soon there won't be any cars to restore because they're going to be all bloody gone

Reckon the Ks are genuine? I’ve never seen the foam breakdown like that on such low K car
@tmmtmm

Probably stored in an uninsulated shed. Heat cycling does a number on foam. Also depends on how the previous owners treated it. 80k of bolster bashing (people who crush the bolster getting in and out) will do more harm than 300k of careful ownership.
@MindieJ

all depends on how you treat the car, ive seen cars with 50,000kms with screwed seat foam
@cal-king

Yeah depends on how fat the previous owners were too. I bought a vz maloo with 60k and they have serious heavy duty foam on the bolsters and it was rekt down to the bracket. Its like the guy used to spend the whole duration of the ownership stamping on it with his feet or something

Wow 😳 only 201 made and nearly 30 years old, there would be lucky to be 80 of them left and I’d say between $80k-$100k but I’d say he got it for a steal. I’m very very curious to know what it was purchased for but it would have to be in that region being so rare.

definitely not worth 80-100k, theres one on ebay for 90k with under 1000kms on it and its been for sale for months
