To keep bugs off, use tea tree oil, mix 1 part to 2 parts water. Or a light carrier oil. Tea tree oil is antibacterial, so you can also use it for abrasions and minor cuts and scrapes. Lavender, citronella, and mint also work, but not as well, although blends do tend to work well.

I love your videos :) This one really made me miss camping. I find the camera angle changes really annoying though :(

Why do people insist on playing music while camping? Can't we just enjoy the sounds of nature and not have to listen to the person next door's "playlist"?

I personally have bought a complete kit of kitchen gear - pans, knives, kettle, coffee pot, etc. - for camping, _but_ that's just because I find having a box with everything in it, ready to go, makes me much less likely to forget anything, which is a risk for me due to being super scatterbrained. But HYOH, & _your_ reasoning is on point, too. :-)

Love your videos but really not a fan of the side camera angle, would prefer the main shot being slightly closer and any close ups of the items edited in after separately - that's just my opinion though

Hi Alli. I love your videos. I noticed you are posting videos less and less frequently than before. I am wondering if you will be posting one or two videos a month from now on or if you will go back to posting more often? I miss seeing you more;) I hope you and Nick are having a great time camping. It looks so fun. Thank you for sharing your journey. Blessings to you and Nick from the North side of the state.

lavender essential oil can be used as a natural bug repellent too! I've used it while camping in upstate NY with all the mosquitoes.

I wouldn't recommend you apply the lavender oil on a cut.

Eek sorry but I don't like the changing camera angle. I would suggest sticking to just a front view.

Thank you for this video. I’m currently eliminating the toxic things in my life ie plastics, detergents etc. I didn’t realize you could buy castile soap in liquid form as I’ve made my first batch of laundry pods. So I’ll have to check that out! My laundry pods were a bit on the dry side. My next step is to either make or buy produce bags. I appreciate all of your tips. It’s been very helpful. By the way I like your jacket, is that embroidery ?

I have the same mat! It is super comfy. I think if you want to backpack you can! I was afraid too, but I just went for it. Great Video Alli! Happy Anniversary to you and Nick.

Great video! Love this series. My husband and I live in Pennsylvania and find a new state park to tent camp at every summer. We’re lucky enough to have over 50 parks to visit! ⛺️

You always put out such high quality video. I think the changing angles reminds me of a documentary or an infomercial more than the intimate, informal vibe of KZitem, but I still appreciate the care you put into it

Alli, You could change your hydro flask top to a “flex cap”. Making your bottle leak proof and easier to carry or clip onto something when hiking. ~Lorice

You can buy a wide mouth flex cap for your hydroflask which has a handle not too different from the klean kanteen that can hook onto a caribiner and also will keep the portion that touched your mouth protected. It bothers me too when that part is exposed : / Also, there is a straw lid with a loop too.

I use the Libby app and that is game changer for me in terms of audiobooks.im saying this cause i heard nick say audible. All you need is a library card for libby and you can rent books and audiobooks from the library.it is super convenient, super cheap and very minimalist. Best of all, no need for wifi for those long roadtrips and silent camping nights

This is such a nice video! A solar powered light is such an awesome idea! I also think a blanket is a great essential for camping. It helps to be prepared for any temperature drops or even used as a sitting space like a picnic blanket!

The part about backpacking made me laugh! I went backpacking with Mike once and the backpack was so uncomfortable for me. I told him in the future I would "car camp" with him anytime but no more backpacking.
