Great video as always. Even though I own an Eastern Indigo I never get tired of seeing videos on them. Truly a holy grail snake for me since I was a child, they are never boring. Once they flip the switch and that feeding response gets insane you better watch out! He's like a heat seeking missile and for my own safety I simply slide open the glass door & toss the prey in his direction then take in the performance.

Texas cribos are usually a bit duller on the lips in my opinion. Yet blacktails look like a smooth scaled eastern coachwhip.

Amazing how you can keep a federally protected species. Looks like they are doing great. High metabolism snakes that love to forage.

Yeah, they are fantastic animals. Hopefully, the captive propagation of this species will help relieve the pressure on the natural populations.

Do they only eat rats captivity or can they handle adult chinchillas and guinea pig? Also wanna know at adult will they girth be equal to lets say smaller boas like Brazilian rainbow boa and emerald basin boa's? Last is can you house indigos in 75 gallon or will they need like 125 gallon ?

Are you feeding jumbo rats yet? I will love to get one them iam a ball python owner my snakes eat rats upto 280 grams but balls are alot smaller then these indigos. So im guessing they can eat rats upto 500-600 grams ? Also will like to know do they only eat chicks or will it eat larger burds too like talking adult MACCAW parrots and ehats ya take on any experience with lizards feeding ? So can you house it with any other specie's if the other species are bigger it may know it cant eat it or win battle ? Cus bkack rat snakes they say also eat other snakes but they share dens with rattle snake and copperheads
