Saw Black Oak Arkansas in October 1971.. supporting Grand Funk Railroad at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.. on 10-17-1971 and never heard of BOC. It was loud as Hell and they kicked total ass.... then, GFR came out and did the same, finishing us all off. My very first concert... I was turning 13 on the 27th and this was part of my birthday present. I was a HUGE GFR fan so, this was one special treat.

One of my favorite bands. Loved Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas. Always a favorite 8-track in my Craig power-play stereo in my old Chevy. back in the 70's/80's. .With my crew. Finally got to see them play live at Sturgis at Buffalo chips in the mid 80's Jim Dandy hit The stage shirtless wearing white fringed leather pants with 2 strippers Wearing nothing but white fringed go-go boots. Singing Hot and Nasty. Best concert I ever saw. Favorite songs Backdoor man, Gravel roads, older than Grandpa, Good Stuff, just a few. There's many more. When I was a teen I had to steal my B.O.A records back from my Mom she loved Jim Dandy's voice. God rest her and God bless Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas!

I been listening to this man since I was 14 years old and am 63 now and I haven't looked back. Even after Aldridge talk $hit. I got to see Black Oak Arkansas in the late 70's in Missouri where I used to live. The show was awesome, and Jim Dandy's antics onstage were great. We were entertained by both the music and the humor. He definitely could do a strut like nobody else; he is a real showman!! It seems now that he is older, he is doing what most of the rest of us do as we age, and that is to self-reflect. I hope to see him going strong for many more years. He has now gained the wisdom that he spoke of in the video, and he seems like a great Dad and friend!!

BOA, People either Love them or they Hate them, there's no in between. I never met anyone in my life who has said, I can take them or leave them. people either say, sounds great turn it up, or wow that sounds like shit, turn that off" hahaha, but I tell those people to fuck off. because I love BOA. I always wondered why they didn't play a lot of the X rated songs live, because Flesh needs flesh, and Bump and grind, strong enough to be gentle, all of that album was gold. very under rated album. in fact for many years it was out of print. But I own it, along with 10 other BOA Albums. I don't love every song, but every album has it's treasures, and Rated X was great from top to bottom. that was their Back in Black album, but for some reason people didn't catch on enough to it back then. my brother was 18 and caught me listening to it in 1977, I thought he was going to kick my ass, I was 9. He asked, "Do you really like that? I said, yeah. it's great. He said, then you can have it. I didn't much care for it. So My Love began with my first BOA album. all because my brother hated it hahaha. and now 44 years later I'm writing this comment on Jim Dandy's kids YT channel, Now it don't get any better than that.
