@@ianwaters6272 I was able to purchase printers from a local resell company that buys Amazon returns. I picked up the ender 3 v2 for 115 each. I purchased 7. Some of them were just a bunch of parts thrown in a box. I've gotten pretty good at building them so I was able to identify what went where and what parts I was missing. I haven't purchased a refurbish machine but I can't imagine it would be worse than a box of parts like I got lol.

I do have octoprint, but I only use it to configure the motherboard. I've tuned and set all of the printers to print pretty reliably so I just set them and forget them from when I return from my day job. I want to experiment with a printing queue and print history though to get some data into how many hours you should perform certainly maintenance so I may start fully using its features.

is ender 3 good for a printfarm ? i want to know about your personal experience about running ender 3 printfarm, cause i want to start to make a 3d printer farm, currently i have 2 but, i want to know about having more than 2 printer running
@collect3d
3 жыл бұрын
I think the ender 3 is great for starting a printing farm. My personal experience is that the machines need weekly quality checks. Sometimes beds may become unlevel. The v rollers might need adjusting. The gantry might need realignment. The area that I have had the most trouble with is with bed leveling. I use a bl touch and silicone bed mounts, but occasionally I have to still relevel to get a perfect first layer. I do weekly checks for these printers and make adjustments when needed to keep prints looking great. It definitely needs constant maintenance, but nothing too extreme or costly.
@collect3d

If you have more than two printers running, you will need to start looking at how you will keep filament on hand, as well as spare parts like nozzles, bowden tube coupler, silicone socks for extruder, extruder gears. Those are spare parts I have on hand just in case.

Like my prints come out from fair to close to where I’d want them (so still improvements to be made) but I feel like I have to visit the bed leveling after every single print.

I would make sure your wheels are tight, but not too tight on the bed, the hotend and the x gantry. I would also swap out the springs on the bed with silicone bed mounts, and get a bl touch. Finally a spring steel build plate is all the upgraded I have and everything works great.

Make sure you license check before selling 3d prints. Designing and printing at home does not give the right to sell 3d prints. Piracy is a serious crime. I unfortunity got nailed so learned it the hard way.

@@collect3d espesilly if telling people how to sell. Or upload has same sort of issues. Dont upload until licences checks are done. Imagine uploading giving away a thing then finding thousands of people in trouble if that thing were licensed. Ive read of money damages being awarded. It could get real bad and big fast. License checks are quite hard to do unfortunitly. Exact text searhes...all are faulty. That dont help. Ive emailed Mr Musk for help to fix the industry. I was answering questions just now on a request to him. We shall see. It does pay to license a 3d print in my opinion incase someone else does it. After dam weeks of checks of course. .
