I can hear so much of your music in this plugin. Thank you for pointing it out. This will be so much fun! I mean ... in a very dark and brooding way, of course. 😁

Haha, fun in a dark and brooding is definitely the way to go. We're all very serious here 🤪 And yeah, I love string synths. If it's not this one I often end up with some string synth element anyway. And bells, I love that too!

I first discovered your channel through your guitar videos so it is always nice to hear how you put your music together. Using my favourite track from the new album as a demonstrator really helps too.

Oh, you found me through my mustang video? That's cool! The guitar has been a tad neglected lately because I've been so focused on using my modular etc. I'm glad that you're enjoying these new videos too, that's reassuring! I really love dusk too, it's sort of on the edge between the lighter and the more ominous tracks and I think it has a really nice balance. How have you been?

@@LillySchwartz That was it, and your videos on making pedals too. I only really know a bit about guitars so the synth world is something I find really interesting but a little over my head. I am well thank you. Currently at university trying to put some of your advice into practice. How are you doing?

Pedals are such a great way of starting DIY. I’m working on another track for a pedal DIY vid right now and I’m hoping to have enough music for one of those soonish. I always try to have all the music in the video involve the thing I’m talking about, so it sometimes takes me a while to finish one of those videos. Frankly, the synth world is still confusing to me too although I’ve been deep diving for the last 5 years. It’s such a huge topic, endless, really. Currently I’m working on understanding West Coast style synthesis which has been rewarding albeit slightly frustrating too. It’s very suitable for experimental music but also wildly unpredictable sometimes. I’m well too, thank you! Busy with all the videos I’ve been planning, but it’s all very rewarding and the album release was a success too so far. I’m sitting here editing another video.

I am so pleased the new album is doing well. As someone who lacks any sort of creative drive I tend to be somewhat in awe of people who are moved to produce art. Long may you continue.

Aw, thank you! I can’t really imagine that you have no creative drive when you watch guitar modding videos? There must be some urge there or you’d consider it a waste of time! I studied Computing and I definitely met at least a few people there who lacked creativity and were just doing it for the job prospects. They wouldn’t have bothered with one of my videos!

It’s really cool and very useful when you forget to take notes on what key you played in. I could work it out, but this is more interesting. The little glitchy dissonances it sometimes produces are a feature not a bug 😀

@@LillySchwartz oh my goodness I love glitches. I was just re-discovering an old Portishead vinyl, and then heard Geoff Barrow in interview talking about how he did his compositions on vinyl. That man works glitches gorgeously.

That’s so cool, thanks for sharing! It’s really funny because after you pointed me to puremagnetic in the video about your album I got verve and fathoms and a few others and the track that I’m currently working on is not that far away from what you did in this video….

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hah, that's cool. And that's also what I meant when I said that I have to be careful not to overuse it. Verv into Fathoms is just very recognisable, so there is a risk that it takes over the entire sound and makes it entirely ... well, Verv into Fathoms. Shrike is a little less obvious because there are plenty of shimmer effects out there and it's just a really lovely one with lots of modulation. I really like Shrike personally and have been using it a lot on the album I'm currently working on.

I’m glad you enjoy what I do! Dark ambient with guitars is right up my alley, I really enjoy listening to that. I think it’s about time I made something in that direction too. Most of what I’ve done with guitars turned out lighter. I’ll definitely keep this stuff coming, lots of videos in the works in this style because I really enjoy synth and music KZitem 😀 share away if you like, getting the word out really helps my channel, so I appreciate it. If you’re into dark ambient & trance, have you heard of Russian Witch House music? Kinda blew my mind when someone mentioned it in my comments.
