1 lb. of your favorite meat (Italian sausage, breakfast sausage. turkey sausage, etc.)...but, it MUST add flavor..turkey is no good unless spicy. I use Tennessee Pride Hot breakfast sausage.
2 boxes of stove top dressing, ( I use chicken)
1- 32oz. container of chicken stock
1/2 stick butter (per every 2 boxes of stove top ) 1/2 stick equals 4 oz. OR 8 TBLSPS.
1 tsp. poultry seasoning (If needed) I always need it.
For every 2 boxes of stovetop you'll need 1 lb. of the meat and the rest of the ingredients doubled for 4 boxes. etc.
Brown your meat of choice and break up into small pieces (unless using Italian Sausage cut into rings, just brown it till it's thoroughly cooked)
If there's a lot of grease, pour it off. Add the butter.
Empty the 32oz of broth into the cooked meat and bring to a boil.
When it starts boiling, empty both boxes of stovetop dressing into the boiling mixture, stir it in, remove from heat and let it sit 5 minutes, cover it. Taste it to see if it needs the extra poultry seasoning and add it at this time if you think it needs it and stir it in well. Fluff it with a fork.
Put the dressing in the container your going to serve it in, cover and keep in refrigerator until ready for use. Just reheat in the oven, uncovered, at 350 till hot. Enjoy! YOU can add 1 tsp poultry seasoning if you choose to.
